Chessgames Bookie: Hmm, according to Chess-Results (http://chess-results.com/tnr199261....), Radjabov may not be playing in Qatar, as the official site says. If he doesn't show up in Round 1, I will refund his bets.

Too bad pairings are not up yet, either...

  Penguincw: <Bookie>/<Annie>

This "issue" showed up before when I was bookie, but I wanna know what your take is.

For Qatar Masters Open 2015: WINNER and Qatar: First Move as White - Carlsen, there's no money on "Ponomariov" and "OTHER" respectively, so if either of those lines win, bookie keeps all the money? :p

That's what I would've done.

And for Qatar Masters Open 2015: WINNER, is Radjabov playing? chess24 lists him in the standings, but no game, and 2700chess lists him as playing as well, but no game. Bye?

Chessgames Bookie: <Penguin> I believe <cg>'s policy is that the Bookie never keeps all the money. So it's either refund, or go with the closest ticket(s), where applicable.

As for Radjabov, as I noted yesterday, he doesn't show up in the Chess-Results player list for Qatar either. I think I'll wait one more round, in case of a bye, and if he doesn't show up for Round 2 either, then refund his line.

Of course, personally I totally disagree with this, and think the Bookie should keep the money. ;p

Chessgames Bookie: OK, folks, it's official: the leg ends on January 5th, with the end of Hastings.

<WinKing>, I proposed the same preseason and Championship Leg opening schedule to Daniel as I outlined here, and he was fine with it. Please get in touch with him (chess@chessgames.com) to establish communications? :)

  Penguincw: Another pointless question:

For Qatar: Last Round With Perfect Score, if the last round with a perfect player is R3, then all bets refunded? :)

Dec-22-15
Premium Chessgames Member
Chessgames Bookie: Ah, yes, we have an interesting situation here: after just 3 rounds, there are only two players left still with a perfect score, and they are playing each other tomorrow. :)

If they draw, the bet will be refunded. On the other hand, if one of them wins, he's clearly in great form, and could continue his winning streak for quite a while yet! ;)

Now get back to betting! ;p

Dec-28-15  MarkFinan: Just checked the leaderbord..

Tomorrow I go ALL (IN!!!)

I'm 9th as It stands, I could sit on my money and ruin it for someone who hasn't already qualified. But no! My plan is all or nothing, and for that guy (Can't remember his username,) who said I was offering "condescending charity" .. If I'm 10th and you're 11th and fail to qualify, please come to my forum and tell me how you feel LOL. Good luck everyone, especially Karpy, he's gotta qualify.

Dec-28-15  TheFocus: On the other hand, I am still consistently a cellar-dweller.
Dec-28-15  Karposian: <MarkFinan: Good luck everyone, especially Karpy, he's gotta qualify.>

Thanks, <Mark>! It sure is looking good. My dream of becoming the 10th Chessbookie Champion of the World lives on..

The big question we must all ask ourselves, however, is this:

How can we turn off the <Switch>??

He's started to run away, again..

Anyway, just a reminder that everyone is warmly welcome to discuss all matters of the Chessbookie Game on my chessforum, a dedicated forum started by me and <Penguincw> for everything Chessbookie-related (that is: everything that isn't pertaining to this forum, which is meant to be a support forum, after all).

Jan-04-16  MarkFinan: I've gone all in about 10 times this leg, I had 7k in live bets at one point. So is that the end of this round now Annie? And Happy New Year.

Annie K.: Happy New Year. :) The leg ends tomorrow, after the 10 bets that will be put up today get paid off (the 5 for Rilton are already up, still waiting for the Hastings pairings to be published).

Good luck everybody!

FSR: I bet pretty big today. If I finish in the top ten, then yay for me - two in a row in my first two serious attempts. If not, I've already qualified and someone else makes it in. Good luck everyone!
Jan-05-16  TheFocus: With 273 CBs, I don't really think I will qualify this Leg.
