Dec-03-16  sydbarrett: Beware--- I LIVE [again]
Dec-04-16  SoUnwiseDope: I am very sorry SwitchingQuythulg for everything that happened in October, it was all my fault. I made assumptions and accusations without really knowing what was going on. And I asked others to judge you based on them which looking back seems ridiculious. And my stupid habit of using the same numbers over and over absolutely ruined the game. I just didn't realize how dumb it was. Very Sorry for that. The whole month I kept thinking how stupid it was but I never wrote that.

I am also Sorry about all the stupid stuff I wrote, Nothing was very funny and nothing was true either. Sorry to Annie K. as well.

If anyone stopped playing I am truly sorry for that, it was really my fault the numbers thing I deserved that and I just hope the game is back to where everyone is happy with it.

Sorry Again. SwitchingQuythulg and Annie K. and everyone else who loves the Bookie game. Sorry.

Dec-04-16  WinKing: Just want you to know that the 100th game of the TCEC started at 10:30pm chessgames time(90 min. earlier than the time it was scheduled to start).
Dec-04-16  WinKing: Games 98 & 99 were two quick draws which caused game 100 to start early.

Annie K.: <WinKing> thanks, I'll ask Daniel to refund bets placed after that time.
Dec-05-16  WinKing: Your welcome <Annie K>. I followed the final three games. Stockfish pretty much dominated the match but Houdini had the last laugh.
Dec-09-16  Paarhufer: <Pay Day> I placed several bets during the WC and ended up where I begun, i.e. having 1000 chessbucks. I expected to get 1000 additional chessbucks on Pay Day, but it didn't happen.

  chessgames.com: <<ChessBookie! players>>

We are in need of a volunteer bookie to handle the Championship leg to take place in January-February-March.

To handle the job you need to be on top of current chess events, be proficient with a web browser, and be familiar with the workings of the ChessBookie! game.

If this sounds like something you'd like to tackle please contact Daniel at chess@chessgames.com. Thanks!

Dec-15-16  gauer: Chessgames Bookie chessforum (kibitz #10801)

Perhaps for January a new bookie (not much time for me this winter) may wish to handle the newly formed https://www.chess.com/news/u-s-ches... (apparently starts in January with some Montreal and Toronto teams mentioned on player biographies) - supposedly a USCL successor for team play - I heard mention of it on: http://www.chesstalk.com if interested.

Dec-23-16  sydbarrett: I was leading for a day a week ago, but then I made some bold bets after some holiday rum. No regrets, hehe

Good luck everybody!

Phony Benoni: <sydbarrett> Oh, I'm quite realistic about this. Given my usual track record, I doubt I'll be in the Top Ten when the standings are updated.
Dec-30-16  sydbarrett: Well for me, it was destiny. In my rookie leg about a year ago, I came in 2nd to that old rascal Qualthuyg, who overtook my lead on the very final day... and Karjakin contributed greatly to my fortunes back then, as well. Thought I'd give this game a go again after taking a few legs break. I'm currently #41 on the final day of this leg, trailing dozens of players, and trailing the leader $2109 to $6519.

For some reason everyone underestimated Karjakin again even though he was even more prominent this year, having been the WC challenger just a month ago. Only $242 was bet on him, with $140 of it from me. In contrast $8831 was bet on Carlsen.

If I did indeed complete some miraculous victory this fall, I want to thank all the other dedicated chess fans without which this game would not nearly be as entertaining. And let history exalt the name of Killer Karjakin.

Dec-30-16  sydbarrett: I just cashed in that beautiful Karjakin ticket, and I saw the visage of those two old men at the table, who in my imagination look like Orson Welles and Warren Buffett. When you see those two, you know you've done well.

Good fight Benoni see you in the championship leg.
