  cu8sfan: Thanks, <lostemperor>, I'll remember that!
Aug-28-06  jamesmaskell: Well Ive put 50s down on Karjakin, Carlsen and Nunn today, with the other two games draws. My betting isnt too bad though I place too many biog bets, as I noticed in Turin (Anand cost me dearly).

I notice that the current leg will finish on September 19. Does that mean that we'll be able to bet on the Kramnik-Topalov match or not?

Aug-28-06  suenteus po 147: <jamesmaskell: I notice that the current leg will finish on September 19. Does that mean that we'll be able to bet on the Kramnik-Topalov match or not?> We will be able to bet on the match, but it will be under the next leg of the chessbookie game, when all accounts are reset.
Aug-28-06  chessmind: This event was on Peter Svidler's calendar http://www.psvidler.net/ (importable in an iCal compatible program or http://calendar.google.com/)

Chess Festival Spitsbergen 2006

It also has live game relays.

Aug-29-06  jamesmaskell: OK. just wanted to know if we could bet, tis all.

One more thing, how long does it take before you can cash in your tickets...Im owed moolah...

Aug-30-06  MrMelad: What happens if the bookie can't pay me my chessbucks?
Sep-01-06  nikiml: What could be the reason my acount was reset?
Sep-03-06  Chess Classics: <Chessgames Bookie> Err...on the Leko-Karpov match, I had a projected payout of 7000 some-odd for most of the match, now its giving me 5000-ish. Am I hallucinating?

Regards,
CC

Sep-03-06  soughzin: Yea I had a similar experience Chess Classics.Leko was a little better payout than even odds at closing then later I check and he's paying out only 1.75 or something like that. At least that is my recollection.
Sep-04-06  ustadsultakhan: Help me bookie i had 1683 in cash then i took a loan 750 after the loan the screen told me that i had 1683 and had a loan on 750 i but around 1600 on Gylmasi why didnt i have 2100 can please check my account

Chessgames Bookie: <<Chessgames Bookie> Err...on the Leko-Karpov match, I had a projected payout of 7000 some-odd for most of the match, now its giving me 5000-ish. Am I hallucinating?> Some accounts were deleted for multiple-voting in the Arno Nickel game, and as a side effect their chessbucks vanished from the betting pools.

<ustadsultakhan: Help me bookie i had 1683 in cash> Right, our logs show that <then i took a loan 750> Yes we see that too <after the loan the screen told me that i had 1683 and had a loan on 750> Actually, it would have said your "net worth" was 1683--and your "funds" was 2433 (1683+750) <i bet around 1600 on Gylmasi> Yes, we see that in the logs. And 2433-1600 = 833, which is your current funds right now <why didnt i have 2100 can please check my account> Where do you get 2100 from? You have 833 and you owe the loan shark 750, as far as I can tell this is correct.

Chessgames Bookie: <nikiml: What could be the reason my acount was reset?> Every 4 months we start a new leg of the competition and everybody's account is reset. Unless you're talking about some other reset but we see no evidence of that happening.
Sep-04-06  ustadsultakhan: my page still says net worth 1687
not 2433
Sep-04-06  TheoreticalNovelty: I bet 4k on double zero
Sep-05-06  refutor: <ustadsultakhan> your net worth is still 1687 because the loan doesn't add to your net worth
Sep-06-06  EmperorAtahualpa: <Chessgames Bookie> I have an idea. In the ChessBookie Game, can you also enable us to bet which move GM Nickel makes next in the Nickel vs. The World match?

EU Individual Championships Rd 5: McShane vs Williams

EU Individual Championships Rd 5: Short vs Gormally

Sep-10-06  soughzin: 1 question. If the leg ends on the 19th, will events that start before before this date but don't finish before this date, not count in the final standings for the summer leg?
Sep-10-06  capatal: When can we start betting on Topalov vs Kramnik?

Chessgames Bookie: Now open: European Individual Championships: Rd 7: Short vs Jones

<When can we start betting on Topalov vs Kramnik?> It will be the first even of the fall leg, i.e. sometime around September 20th.

<soughzin: 1 question. If the leg ends on the 19th, will events that start before before this date but don't finish before this date, not count in the final standings for the summer leg?> There are no such events--we simply do not open betting for events that wouldn't be settled by the 19th.

Sep-11-06  soughzin: Ok thank you. Are there any events planned already that end before the 19th? (Other than individual games)

Sneaky: You can do it lost emp, you just have to take some chances. Your position in enviable in a way: you know what you have to do, and your strategy is clear-cut.

People like refutor (#10) on the other hand must be biting their nails. He's right on the "bubble" and if he just relaxes now he could easily find himself coming in at #12 or so. But if he starts to take chances and loses, he might push himself off the list.

Only 5 days left to make all of these heady decisions!
