<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Yes. A couple trivial lines. 1. Rb7+ Ka8 2. Ra7+ Kb8 is clearly a repetition. If Black underpromotes, the White Rook draws.

Feb-21-11  morfishine: <OhioChessFan>...<Your "strong player" is my "net negative to the team". I think <morfishine> right now is asking for much advice from a player I think is detrimental to the World Team>

First, congratulations for getting this Monday's puzzle! It was not a typical Monday Puzzle and with time running out, I went for <23.Qd5>.

Secondly, I'm curious as I stumbled across this post in <Goldenexecutive>'s forum. I haven't sought much advice outside of you and possibly <Winking>. I had hoped for a little advice but really haven't sought it outside of what engine to use, how to set it up, etc.

I'm making efforts to clean-up my act around here and not push lines unsupported by analysis. Most of my suggestions are based on efficiency and organization.

I hope when you used the word "detrimental" you are not referring to <cro777>. I think his intentions are good, as from all appearances he just wants us to get out of the opening on a sound/solid basis.

You don't need to explain, I was just curious. Feel free to use my forum. Morf

jessicafischerqueen: Aha= Yes, seems a little paltry after having promised to be there more often.

You know what I think already- I posted it a dozen times or more in the past month- they have to either hire or enlist more administrative help or their website will continue to decline.

And it is in fact declining.

Feb-23-11  Lennonfan: <jessicafischerqueen>...refering to you above post..i would just like to say that you,as well as i,can move to another site if you feel your needs are not being met here....there is others! sometimes im not happy with this site's admins but to go round complaining, and posting at the chessgames.com site like a stern headmistress with paranoia telling off a child, over a *dossier*is a bit over the top,if one has a life?..just deal with it like i have to!! I had posts deleted which they claim i called someone stupid(which i didn't!)but just what can one do?? Blow one's whistle again if you feel the urge? And im sure <cormier>can spk for his/her self, but you were a bit harsh when he said he prayed to god! In fact you were downright rude,as you have been to many a new member here,so maybe an apologies not too much to ask for?? Personally i dont care for you,and didn't want to post this on <ocf>'s forum.. Find a site that isn't in descent, and quit with the intellectual bullying with ppl who are nice with you..?

OhioChessFan: <lennon> your original post on <domdaniel> forum was an inexcusable attack on Jess. If we asked 100 people on this site, all 100 would agree. I have no idea what your agenda is, but you are complaining about people doing the very things you are doing.
Feb-23-11  Lennonfan: <OCF>With all due respect ocf you could ask 1000 people on here, and i have no agenda, and i was tellling <jcf> to just get on with it,i have to,and i have very good reasons for when i blew the whistle, very good please believe me on that.....i dont complain needlessly like she does..she cant start demanding this and that, her post at cg.com's main site are the rantings of a bossy, nosey, paranoid, stuck up,bitter woman...i have nothing else to say on the matter regarding her anyway, and i do apologise for using your forum to say this, but she put me on ignore on only my third posting here regarding an innocent comment on fischer!

  jessicafischerqueen: <Ohio> Thank you-

It seems the administrators are showing a quicker response time at the moment? Maybe they did listen to you and will strive to maintain a much more regular presence on the admin forum page.

You know I read that page regularly and in my view the vast, vast, majority of posts/requests are useful and on topic.

But you're right- for that forum to function best, it can't ignore reasonable questions/requests and go for extended periods without responding.

Let's hope for the best?!

OhioChessFan: Declaration of my feelings for you
Elaboration on those feelings
Description of how long these feelings have existed
Belief that no one else could feel the same as I

Reminiscence of the pleasant times we shared
And our relationship’s perfection
Recounting of the steps that led to our love’s dissolution

Mostly involving my unfaithfulness and lies

Penitent admission of wrongdoing
Discovery of the depth of my affection
Regret over the lateness of my epiphany

Title of the song
Naïve expression of love
Reluctance to accept that you are gone
Request to turn back time
And rectify my wrongs
Repetition of the title of the song

Enumeration of my various transgressive actions
Of insufficient motivation
Realization that these actions led to your departure
And my resultant lack of sleep and appetite

Renunciation of my past insensitive behavior
Promise of my reformation
Reassurance that you still are foremost in my thoughts now

Need for instructions how to gain your trust again

Request for reconciliation
Listing of the numerous tasks that I’d perform
Of physical and emotional compensation

Title of the song
Naïve expression of love
Reluctance to accept that you are gone
Request to turn back time
And rectify my wrongs
Repetition of the title of the song

Acknowledgment that I acted foolishly
Increasingly desperate pleas for your return
Sorrow for my infidelity
Vain hope that my sins are forgivable
Appeal for one more opportunity
Drop to my knees to elicit crowd response
Prayers to my chosen deity
Modulation and I hold a high note…

Title of the song
Naïve expression of love
Reluctance to accept that you are gone
Request to turn back time
And rectify my wrongs
Repetition of the title of the song

OhioChessFan: Declaration of my undying admiration for writer of The Title of the Song.

Reluctant admission my parodies are not nearly as good.

Transparent plea for someone to say I am just as talented.

My overplayed rejection of any such affirmation.

Vain hope of insistence on their part I am just as good.

Slowly dawning realization the first affirmation was based on sympathy and not conviction.

Consoling myself that I will some day write a parody as good as The Title of the Song.

Repetition to self of the conviction I can write a parody as good as The Title of the Song.

Beginning signs of obsession with The Title of the Song.

Prayers for inspiration for a parody as good as The Title of the Song.

Recognition God has better things to worry about than writing a song as good as The Title of the Song.

Declaration of my undying admiration for the writer of The Title of the Song.

Repeated declaration of my undying admiration for the writer of The Title of the Song.

Repeated declaration of my undying admiration for the writer of The Title of the Song.

Feb-26-11  morfishine: <OhioChessFan: Hello Mr AJ. I just got over the world's worst case of bronchitis...> Have you tried alternative medicine? My wife is an acupuncturist. She's treated my bronchitis with both needling and herbs. My bronchial tubes open up in about ten minutes.

jessicafischerqueen: <Ohio> sorry to hear of your ailment- and hope you are feeling better soon.

I noticed <morfishine's> post on the "chessforums" page and thought I'd add another personal anecdote.

I had been plagued by "runner's hip" for years- a chronically inflamed bursus.

On a whim, here in my Korean country village, I stopped in at the "Oriental Wellness Center."

They gave me two- just two- sessions of hip acupuncture over the span of four days.

I have been pain free- absolutely- ever since and it's been more than a year now.

I have no idea of the general scientific data on acupuncture- but I can tell you that at the Center it all seemed pretty "scientific" to me.

You see, nowadays they put an electronic charge in the needles.

It was fascinating- they had this diagram of all these points on the body. The Doctor showed me what he was going to do on the map.

Since the process is actually painful, they give you an "anesthetic"- but the anesthetic is the first set of needles!!

After this, he put a whole array of them around my hip- maybe a dozen or more needles pulsing with electricity.

I didn't feel any pain at all. After about 45 minutes the session is over.

Anyways that's what happened with me- and don't worry. When you're feeling better I predict you find more occasions for your trademark parodies.

One hopes?! that someone as comically inappropriate as P.Z. comes around again...

--best regards,
Jess

Feb-27-11  cormier: <OhioChessFan> hi have a good day ... i agree(confirm) with <morfishine> and <jessicafischerqueen> on the accupuncture treatments, also i'll add that i,ve got a full course-trade 1st division and studied 2th, 3th and 4th in residential(not industrial or lineman aldow i am aware of the why and delta because i've got an electcal motor course) electricy and received hundread of shocks but it's too long a thing to enumerate, God understand our needs, He created Adam&Eve as adults(a miracle was needed), today babies are born in a test-tubes(medical is part of <grace : 1.a)actual, 1.b)medecinal and 2.)santifiant> life in-itself is a miracle, by, tks G

Feb-27-11  cormier: btw great work on the <kr> forum ..... tks G
Feb-27-11  morfishine: Some people are turned-off from acupuncture or alternative medicine because they are scared of needles. Keep in mind 'needling' is only one application or treatment. Herbal teas and massages form the other 2-thirds of the discipline. For example, I had a bad cold with congestion. My wife mixed up an herbal tea that I drank twice per day for 3 days. The congestion totally dried up by the third day and the cold was gone with it on the fourth. Net result was the duration was cut from 10 - 14 days down to 4. Alternative medicine does not cure by itself. It stimulates your body to heal on its own.
