<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 8 Recap **

The crowd erupted as <chessmoron> returned from his whirlwind tour of the Masters. An unconfirmed report from Augusta cited a very large man trying to toss Patrick Reed's caddie into Rae's Creek and take over the bag, hoping to get the 10% caddie fee.

In our contest, the feeble combined efforts of all the competitors against <Switch> were as successful as everyone trying to catch Patrick Reed. <Switch> continues to lead in all 4 categories, and join the exclusive club of Quadruple Winners, currently occupied by only <Penguinw>. A hastily called committe meeting between <OCF> and <chessmoron> led to a unanimous vote that a Quadruple Crown with no shared golds would be deemed as superior to <Penguincw's> Quadruple Crown with 2 shared golds. While <OCF> hestitated by saying, "Hey, a gold is a gold", <cm> glared at <OCF>, who hastily added, "Oh, you're right of course, it's superior to have no shared golds."

Now that that's settled, competitors are looking for weak spots in <Switch's> game. <amw> stands only 7 points back in Moves Ranker, and <WinKing> and <wordfunph> are only 5 points back in Bonus Ranker.

Lost in all the shuffle is the alarming possibility of <bubuli55> winning the Quadruple Clown. He entered the game with a bang, scoring 18 points in the first round he participated, but has only scored a total of 3 points since. There is some controversy whether a person who missed 1/3 of the rounds should be eligible for the Quadruple Clown, so a committe meeting between <OCF> and <cm> will handle the deliberations.

This is it. The pressure is on, like it's Amen Corner on Sunday afternoon at the Masters. Will <Switch> confidently handle the pressure and combined efforts of all the other competitors to stop him in his quest for history? Or will he fade like Rory McIlroy a few years back shooting 80 on Sunday? Will <Penguincw's> ill wishes cause some karmic interference in <Switch's> efforts?

Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other exciting questions. The excitement is palpable as our competitors work feverishly on their game plan for the last round. It's the last round, and the crowd rises....

  OhioChessFan: ** Final Recap **

The crowd roared as <SwitchingQuylthulg> completed his Quadruple Crown! In a stunning display of Moves Prediction Mastery, he had another huge round to finish off the opposition. Nobody came close to matching him in any of the 4 Rankers.

Asked to comment, <chessmoron> stated, "This was definitevely the greatest performance in Moves Prediction History. A Quadruple Crown with no tied Rankers? Unprecedented." <Penguincw> was interviewed by ESPN about the matter, and summed the event up in just a few words, by stating, "I really have to congratulate <Switch> for this amazing Quadruple Crown. But don't forget, I was the first one to do it. I was the one to break the door down. I was the one to prove it could be done. I was the only person to accomplish it for 7 years. I was the one everyone was chasing."

<WinKing> commented, "Will this guy ever shut up?"

<Penguincw> continued, "I was the one who made everyone realize it was possible. I mean, I was a pioneer, a real trendsetter, the first, the most dynamic, the brave, gritty, persistent contestant who kicked the door down to enter the exclusive Quadruple Crown Club."

<chessmoron> glared at him.

<Penguincw> continued, "I don't meant to belittle the performance by what's his name, but the world can never forget who got there first."

The producer from ESPN glared at him.

<Penguincw> continued, "I think the fact that it took so long for someone else to match what I'd already done proves what a historical event it was when I did it."

At that point, <chessmoron> took the video cammera from the ESPN crew and threw it in Rae's Creek.

When awarded his Quadruple Crown, <Switch> commented, "I had maybe a nanosecond's doubt I could do this, but that is about it. Thank you."

<Penguincw> said, "Is that all he's going to say? I'd have talked for much longer than that."

Other medal winners totally ignored by the media fawning over <Switch> were <OCF> who staged a late rally to win a Triple Silver, a Double Silver by <amw>, a Silver and Bronze by <Penguincw>, a Silver by <WinKing>, a Double Bronze by <wordfunph>, and a Bronze by <Count Wedgemore>.

In other news, <OhioChessFan> had some strange hallucination or something and tried to help <juan31> in the Games Prediction Contest. <WinKing> commented, "Wow, I knew you could be nice. That was so nice. Everyone should be so nice." When it came time to vote for the Pollyanna Award, <WinKing> said "It would be really nice to have everyone share it. Wouldn't that be nice?" So <OCF> agreed it would be really nice if it was shared by all the contenders, <WinKing>, <juan31>, <CountWedgemore> and <OhioChessFan>. <chessmoron> glared at <OCF>. <OCF> said, "Oh, of course we should include you too. That would be nice." So the co-winners of the Pollyanna Award are <WinKing>, <juan31>, <CountWedgemore>, <OhioChessFan>, and <chessmoron>. <WinKing> said, "That's the nicest thing ever. It was really, really nice. So nice. Win one for the Gipper!" Touched by his award, <OCF> couldn't bring himself to award a Quadruple Clown to <bubuli>.

Thanks for joining us. Even for the lousy, stinking losers who couldn't stop <Switch>, at least you were a part of history. Thanks for playing!

Apr-09-18  WinKing: Thanks to <chessmoron> for running the contest & thanks to <OhioChessFan> for hosting.

Congratulationds to all of the medal winners! Fantastic performance by <SwitchingQuylthulg>! What's better than a 'Triple Crown'? A 'Quadruple Crown' of course! You were on a mission to make a statement in this one. <Switch> goes back to being the all time gold medal leader with 51 gold medals in all three contests. We all salute you!
