<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Best singer in a band is Freddie Mercury. Best woman singer in a band is Grace Slick. Best singer ever is Sam Cooke. Best female ever is Aretha Franklin. Quick takes on some others mentioned: Dylan is painfully bad. Sinatra is off key 75% of the time. Jim Croce had the best ...

OhioChessFan: <redundant> I never noticed that. I had 5 semesters of college German so I have a basic knowledge of the language. I guess the different languages of "time" in the same sentence render it acceptable. Monty Python just doesn't work for me. I like maybe 10% of their stuff.

OhioChessFan: Wildly entertaining game that lasted a long time with an odd material imbalance. 41...Ke5 was losing, as it gave up the skewer on the two Rooks on the long diagonal. 41...Kd7 would have been fine.

OhioChessFan: Thanks to <chessmoron> for running the contest. Many thanks to <WinKing> for scoring and doublechecking <chessmoron>. Thanks to all the starters, and to everyone for playing. I am hoping we do Shamkir.
Apr-09-18  Golden Executive: Many thanks to the crew: <chessmoron>, <OhioChessFan> and <WinKing>. Great Job. Congratulations to all the winners and particularly to <SwitchingQuylthulg> on his amazing Quadruple Crown. Wow!

See you guys next time!

Penguincw: Well, it has happened. Congratulations to <SwitchingQuylthulg> for earning the quadruple crown. I told myself someone would do it again sometime within the decade, and yep, I was right. All I have to say is, It's nice when only you and <Switch> have done something.

Congrats to the other gold medalists (oh wait) and regular medalists.

Thank you to <WinKing>, <chessmoron> and <OhioChessFan> for making this possible.

Hoping to see you next week for Gashimov Memorial.

offramp: Many thanks to <WinKing>, <chessmoron> and <OhioChessFan>,.

My glass is raised to the prescient SwitchingQuylthulg. Amazing!

Apr-10-18  bubuli55: I’m proud to say that I missed Quadruple Crown by only a letter. I had every intention of making it Quadruple Crowd with the grandmasters SwitchingQuylthulg and Penguincw but my formulation was not accurate.

SwitchingQuylthulg, Congratulations!

Thank you chessmoron, OhioChessFan, WinKing.

Until next time when I won’t hide my preps as if it’s the treasures of Yamashita.

Apr-10-18  alfamikewhiskey: A blast, so thanks to those arranging.

Congratulations to the medalists.

Taking four crowns with one stone, so to speak, *is* feasible. A thing to covet...

Enjoyable <** Final Recap **>!

SwitchingQuylthulg: Thanks to <chessmoron> for managing, <WinKing> for the scoring help, <OhioChessFan> for the hosting and recaps, and everybody for being part of this fun contest! :)

And congratulations to the other medalists, especially <OCF> who had an impressive last round to bag three silvers.

Of course, as we all know, <Penguincw> was the first to win a Quadruple Crown and <Penguincw>'s feat of being the first to win a Quadruple Crown will never be duplicated.

lostemperor: And congratulations to contest manager <chessmoron> for winning two rankers in the Final Standings Predictions! :)
Apr-10-18  wordfunph: great thanks to contest boss <chessmoron OCF>!

congrats to all participants and winners!

Apr-10-18  Count Wedgemore: Thanks to the organizers, this contest is as fascinating as it is difficult. My compliments to <SwitchingQuylthulg> (terrific name) for winning all 4 rankers, a remarkable achievement. And to win them all outright..incredible.

Looking at the Moves+Bonus Ranker, he won with 127pts, a whopping 44 pts ahead of <OhioChessFan> at 2nd place. So my hat goes off to him, I see that he has also won the Chessbookie World Championship twice, the only one to have done so (well, until next year that is :=). A really class act this guy, awesome!

<OhioChessFan: I am hoping we do Shamkir.>

I sure hope you do, <Ohio>. And thank you for marvelous color commentary. An immensely enjoyable read. Finally, thanks to <chessmoron> and <WinKing>!

OhioChessFan: Gotta love sales calls. I just got one where the guy started out by saying, "There you are. You're harder to get a hold of than the last pickle at the bottom of the jar, huh huh."

I am not sure such people exist. Do such people exist? I took a call from a man who wasn't there.........
