<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Best singer in a band is Freddie Mercury. Best woman singer in a band is Grace Slick. Best singer ever is Sam Cooke. Best female ever is Aretha Franklin. Quick takes on some others mentioned: Dylan is painfully bad. Sinatra is off key 75% of the time. Jim Croce had the best ...

May-31-18  Count Wedgemore: Sad news: Ding Liren has been in a traffic accident and cannot play tomorrow, or probably the rest of the tournament for that matter. He is now in a hospital in Stavanger:

http://norwaychess.no/en/2018/05/31...

May-31-18  Count Wedgemore: I responded to your post in my forum, <OCF>. For the record, I simply posted 0 moves in the Ding Liren-Caruana game since it will not be played. Of course, it will be cancelled from our contest also. But thanks for pointing out what you naturally assumed could have been a typo in my predictions.
May-31-18  WinKing: Round 4

Ding Liren - Caruana (cancelled)
Karjakin - Vachier-Lagrave 1/2 41
Aronian - Mamedyarov 1/2 41
Nakamura - Carlsen 1/2 41
Anand - So 1/2 41

Very sad about GM Ding Liren. I wish him a speedy recovery.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

<OhioChessFan> lost a little ground in our contest, but it wasn't the total collapse he typically manufactures. <OCF> still leads Bonus and Moves+Bonus Ranker, but <amw> roared into the lead in Moves and #1 Ranker. Probably in another round, <OCF> will be yesterday's news.

In other yesterday's news, the Norway organizers have appealed to <chessmoron> to disqualify or at least censor contestants <offramp>, <Count Wedgemore> and <OCF> for making bad bicycle jokes at Ding's expense. <chessmoron> responded by glaring at the organizers, who quickly responded, "Quite right, we overreacted, sorry to bother you sir." <lostemperor> is considering using The Force to allow Ding to hover in midair while playing the rest of the tournament. <Golden Executive> failed in his shocking attempt to confuse all the contestants into missing a round by naming the wrong rest day. <Penguincw> made the bizarre observation that a tournament favorite finishing at 50% was an impressive result. <OhioChessFan> is trying really hard to be nice and not comment on all the 0's still on the scoreboard, but let the contestants be forewarned that <OCF> trying to be nice is a losing proposition in the long term.

We are almost at the halfway point and after the next round will be past the halfway point(<OhioChessFan> figured that out in his head if anyone is impressed). Can <OCF> hang on to even a shred of his dignity and not entirely blow the huge early lead he had? Will <amw> continue his torrid run to the top of even more Rankers? Who will be next to have an unfortunate accident for <offramp> <Count Wedgemore> and <OCF> to laugh at? Can the losers ________(redacted), __________(redacted), _________(redacted) and ________(redacted) get rid of those lousy, stinking 0's on the scoreboard(This is as nice as <OCF> can be right now)? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other exciting questions. 5 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.
