<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 7 Recap **

It was a low scoring round, highlighted by <Count Wedgemore> climbing to the top of the #1 Ranker podium and yelling, "Bring it on!" <wordfunph> added insult to injury by taking the lead in Moves Ranker. <OhioChessFan> could only look on in despair as he finished his 8th round in a row without a #1 pick. It was small comfort to him to still lead in Bonus and Moves+Bonus Ranker.

In other news, people still continue to disrupt our competition by walking through the middle of the forum to congratulate <OCF> on his #1 spot in the Bookie game. Long time contestants of this contest know that it's only a matter of time before he chokes in that contest as he will inevitably do in this one. Current Bookie <WinKing> was heard saying to the masses clamoring for his head after the Ding Liren controversy, "Nobody will push me around as long as <Annie K.> is here to protect me." The Bookie pressure is apparently causing <Winky> to crack, as he accused one of our contestants of public drunkenness. Amazingly enough, he wasn't referring to <Penguincw> who was the first person ever to pick a negative number of moves in a game. No, it was <sea otter>, who decided to post his picks this round in a totally random method, instead of the standard (White) - (Black) (Result) (Number of moves). <OCF> is concerned that something is in the water, whether pesticide runoff or excessive thermal currents due to global warming. It is probable <Winky> was drinking the same water that is so horribly impacting <Penguin> and <sea otter>, as there is no other explanation for the nicest person on this website to lose his mind like that.

Was this round the Waterloo for <OCF>? Will he even be able to hold on in the Bonus and Moves+Bonus Rankers, or will he choke on those 2 gold medals also? Has all the congratulations for his success in Bookie gone to his head and caused him to lose focus? Will <wordfunph> and <Count Wedgemore> build on their success and continue a mad rush to the finish line? What kind of crazy prediction will <Penguincw> make next, a half move?! Is <sea otter> a victim of global warming, or did he maybe sneak into <offramp's> stash of beer? Who will <WinKing> be mean to next? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other penetrating questions. Only 2 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

eternaloptimist: <OCF> That's good that u made most of your c$ on only 2 bets! I use the "all-in" strategy (like in poker) myself sometimes. I use the "pick em as I see em" strategy often also. I'm sure the <rhino> will try to pass u pretty soon. For a really long time he wasn't much of a factor until this past World Championship when he finished in 2nd place & he's in 3rd place now. He's definitely a "high risk/high reward" <Bookie> player!
