<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 3 Recap **

<chessmoron> heroically rose from his sickbed to return to the helm of our contest. Concerned doctors warned him that a man with a fever of 98.7 should be very careful, but <chessmoron> brushed off their concerns to the thunderous applause of the contestants. Despite the outpouring of sympathy for that act of bravery, <Winky> couldn't resist pointing out that <cm> had made a scoring mistake. There's something comforting in knowing that some things never change.

Back to our contest, <DerDiemer> has made a strong charge to the top of the Moves Ranker, and shares the lead in #1 Ranker with <CountWedgemore>. Early leader <Robin01> appeared to get a bit comfortable and was shut out that round but still maintained a lead in 2 Rankers. To the crowd's immense relief, <OCF> finally scored a point and won't be able to whine about it any more. <OCF> attributed his success to a scorekeeper not confusing him what round it is.

In other news, <Diademas> played the Pity Card, claiming some special mistreatment by <OCF> that <hasn't even happened yet!> <wordfunph>, embarrassed by having scored only one point, is blaming his poor performance on everyone else having beginner's luck. <Penguincw> has been carrying on the last week about private messaging, which the site has never had, and apparently <Pengo> is glad the site doesn’t have private messaging because he doesn’t want private messaging, so consider him one vote against private messaging because the site has never had private messaging and now is not the time to start up private messaging even thought there are no plans to institute private messaging because the membership doesn’t want private messaging and the new admins don’t have time to start private messaging. <CountWedgemore> is suffering from some sort of delusion that just because he made up a user name on a chess site that includes the name “Count”, that he is in fact a real life Count, with vast land holdings encompassing half of Europe. <juan31> wised up and got his picks in like 12 hours ahead of time so that he didn’t get them in 12 seconds late and have them disqualified by <Winky>.

We are a third of the way through our contest(<OCF> did that in his head if anyone is impressed). Will <Robin01> regain that early game mojo? Can <DerDiemer> maintain his strong momentum? Will <chessmoron> have a relapse and have to return to the sick bay? Will <OCF> recover from the shock of having someone accuse him of being snide? Will someone invent a hack to the site and private message <Pengo> just to mess with his head? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other penetrating questions. 6 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

The crowd was stunned as <OhioChessFan> roared to the lead in Moves Ranker and a share of the lead in #1 Ranker. Just 2 rounds ago, he was a total embarrassment to the contest, but now is the talk of the town. He is joined in the lead for #1 Ranker by <chessmoron> <CountWedgemore> <offramp> and <DerDiemer>. <Robin01> still leads 2 rankers but the lead in both is shrinking rapidly.

In other news, investigative journalists are looking into the <AlphaXerox> mystery as they joined the site and then 3 days later played all 3 contests. In another mystery, "Where in the World is <Switch>?" has been the thought on everyone's mind. <Diademas> has made his entries to this contest rather well, unlike the embarrassing mess he made of things in <lostemperor's> place. Taking a cue from <wordfunph> here, <le> blamed his bad showing at his place on everyone else having beginner's luck. In a bizarre event, <chessmoron> stood in the middle of the arena floor and yelled at everyone to hurry up and get their picks in twenty (20!) hours before they were due.

We're not quite halfway done(<OCF> figured that out in his head if anyone is impressed) and the excitement is building. Was this the start of something big for <OCF> or just a one-off before an inevitable fall back to the pack? Can <Robin> get back on track before everyone else catches up? Who can make a move in #1 Ranker to shake loose of all the contenders? Who's going to accuse who of beginner's luck next? Who will be brave/stupid enough to tell <chessmoron> to quit disturbing everyone by yelling on the playing floor? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pertinent questions. Just one (1!) more round until the rest day, and just five (5!) more rounds left in our contest.
