<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Aug-22-18  WinKing: Good job <chessmoron>. I take it your feeling better. Leading in 3 Rankers. :)
Aug-22-18  WinKing: Tomorrow, Thursday Aug. 23rd, is a rest day for the players at Sinquefield. Play for Round 6 resumes on Friday Aug. 24th.
Aug-23-18  DerDiemer: I so hate draws, lost about 9 points and a moves ranker 1st place cause of an 'positive' mindset :-( Have 6 overs and 3 unders, there's something i doing wrong, i gues its my guessings :-) Round 6 looks very interesting, see So and Anand' 1st classical against each other.
Aug-23-18  WinKing: <DerDiemer: Round 6 looks very interesting, see So and Anand' 1st classical against each other.>

Well this is their first Classical meeting for them in this 2018 tournament <DerDiemer> but they have met many times in Classical games. They are tied after having played 11 games.

search "So vs. Anand"

Aug-23-18  DerDiemer: Tanks <Winking>, will do. Have worked with chess2700 stats, 3 weeks ago it show no games against each other, now ut shows 1-1-11. Wich sites got the most acurate stats ? Chessgames ?

Thanks in advance

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

In a heroic struggle against insurmountable odds, <chessmoron> continued his charge up the leaderboard. Just 2 days out of the intensive care unit, and against doctor's orders, he roared to the top of 3 Rankers! <amw> holds the lead in Bonus Ranker. As expected, <OCF> couldn't hold the lead and is sinking like a rock. Likewise, <Robin01> hasn't scored a point since taking charge of the contest in the second round.

In other news, the only 0's on the board belong to <Alfa> and <alpha>, which hurts if you think about it too much. <Switch> finally showed up once <OCF> mentioned his name. To see if there was some instant karma there, <OCF> is wondering why Halle Berry never plays in this contest. Now that the <Switch> mystery is solved, <OCF> plans to figure out the <Alpha> mystery. <offramp> tried a very sneaky method of making picks by entering both a draw AND a loss for the same game! You can often get over on <chessmoron> but <Winky> figured it out immediately. Regardless, <OCF> approves of that kind of competitive spirit and outside the box thinking. In a disgusting display of "sportsmanship", about half of the contestants tried to warn <offramp> that he'd made a mistake! Backed into a corner like that, <offramp> had no choice but to pretend he didn't mean to do it and acted like he was thankful people had noticed what he'd done. On a related note, <DerDiemer> thought he'd warn <lostemperor> about a supposedly poor pick. <Winky> shed his nice guy image for a change, and severely chastised <DD> for getting involved. <le> responded to the crisis by telling <DD>, "Your business mind your own, grasshopper." <Penguin> replied, "Uh, Yoda, you don't say grasshopper. That's someone else." <le> replied, "Your business mind your own, deleted by an expletive." Feeling bad about the conflict he started, and trying to change the subject, <DD> made a ridiculous remark about So and Anand having never played each other. <Winky> again got all mean and stuff and told <DD> what an idiot he is. Then <DD> started talking about New Year's Day 2011 or something, and everyone just decided to let it go.

The entire contest is in an uproar. Just out of the sick bay, <chessmoron> begged the Sinquefield organizers for a day off to regain his health and get the contestants under control, which was granted. It's hoped that people will forget <offramp's> brazen attempt to cheat-which <OCF> still admires-and <Winky> will calm down and <DD> will start minding his own business and <OCF> will figure out who <Alpha> is and Halle Berry will show up! Only 4 rounds to go in our thrilling contest!
