<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

juan31: Thanks to <chessmoron and OhioChessFan> Congratulation to all, especially to mi amigo < WinKing> 3 gold medals !
Jul-22-19  WinKing: Thanks <chessmoron> for taking the time to run the stats for Dortmund. I don't know what you have been up to but I hope to see you & <OCF> playing when the Sinquefield tournament comes around. It's not quite the same without you guys.

Congrats to all of the winners! Lots of medals to go around. First, I would like to announce that we have two new Hall of Famers in <chessmoron>'s contest. <Scwartz> & <whiteshark> both picked up a Gold medal for the Dortmund contest. Welcome to the HOF! Second, I would like to extend special grats to my good friend <Golden Executive> who picked up his 22nd Gold medal in this prediction game - well done all!

We have a couple of milestones that were reached in this contest. <whiteshark> is the 21st member of the elite 'Hat Trick Club'(At least one Gold medal from each of the three Prediction games is required for entry). <Schwartz> is now a member of the 'Daily Double Club'. At least one Gold medal is required from two of the three Prediction games). Congratulations to you both!

I hope we are on for Sinquefiel in August. Looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Jul-22-19  Golden Executive: Hey <chessmoron> thanks for your marathon scoring (and thanks also to my dear friend <WinKing> for keep track round by round). Nice to see you came back. BTW, <OCF> recaps were missed.

Congratulations to all the winners and new inductees in the Hall of Fame, Hat Trick Club and Daily Double Club and particularly to <WK> on his Triple-Crown. You had an amazing last round in order to get that!

Will be a MPC for Sinquefield? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVS...

  OhioChessFan: ** Final Recap **

It was another bizarre tournament, as <chessmoron> and <OCF> were both missing in action. <OCF> saw how much fun <cm> had at the "Chess Club" last tournament, so he decided to go there too. Halfway through, <Count Wedgemore> decided to join them. Most of the contestants were glad to see him leave, as he'd spent the entire tournament screaming for the players to castle on opposite wings, just to liven the games up a little. Asked to explain himself, he said, "Hey, what do I care about King safety when it's not my King?"

Before the tournament started, many of the contestants were hoping <lostemperor> wouldn't win a gold this time after the debacle of our last tournament. <le> gave a 20 minute acceptance speech that seemed like 4 hours. “I sure did great. I mean, better than great, blah blah blah, blah blah blah. I had 5 exacts and should have had 4 more, blah blah blah, blah blah blah. Really, I accept all the accolades being cast upon me, blah blah blah, blah blah blah. Oh yeah, congratulations to all the other winners, even though they really didn’t do as great as me, blah blah blah, blah blah blah. Blah." Unfortunately, at that point, every single person in the audience fell asleep, and the rest of <le's> exciting and interesting and humble acceptance speech was lost to history.

As the tournament started, <amw> nonchalantly asked the other contestants whether there were any special rules about draw offers. To their credit, all the contestants refused to help <amw>. That's the kind of fighting spirit that's been sorely lacking in this contest. <whiteshark> confused everyone with this indecipherable philosophical platitude: "For every prediction I make, there is a result that is clear, simple, and wrong." <Schwartz> mumbled something about wishing he could enter a prediction contest about card games, but was bewildered to discover nobody else seemed interested.

Meanwhile, <Penguin> carried on the whole tournament about “colouration”. Nobody had any idea what in the world he was talking about, but were afraid to ask since they might get a half hour answer. <wordfunph> flew to the Grand Prix tournament and tried to help his hero So cheat, by signaling moves. Unfortunately, when <word> tried to signal “Do you see the Pawn?”, So thought he was saying “Move the c Pawn”.

<juan> irritated all the players-and confused everyone else-by saying, "These lousy players, who are supposed to be professional, are not playing to win, but not to lose. And I don’t mean that in a negative sense about these crummy players." <GE> apparently thinks Nepo lost early because he ate too much chips and salsa.

As for the contest, <Winky> mysteriously had a huge final round to win a Triple Crown. Then he played innocent about where <cm> has been when he knows full well it was at the “Chess Club”. <Schwartz> also took home a gold, and <GE> and <whiteshark> shared a gold with <Winky>. After the contest was over, a huge crowd of fans stood outside the arena and demanded <OCF> write up a recap. Which he was quite happy to do to satisfy those great fans who obviously recognize talent when they see it.

Congratulations to the winners. Thanks to everyone for playing. Hoping to see everyone at Sinquefield.

Jul-23-19  wordfunph: great thanks to <chessmoron> and <OhioChessFan>, cheers to all winners!

<OCF> lol on your entertaining recap :)

Fusilli: Dear <OCF> and friends. Some of you may remember that my oldest step-son, Tristan, was battling brain cancer. I am heartbroken to report that he passed away today, age 16. I want to say thank you for the prayers and expressions of support I received. God bless you all.
