<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: I really can't believe this tournament. Many tournaments, I don't happen to pick a decisive game, but at least considered it, sometimes a really hard decision whether to pull the trigger or not. This time, there are decisive games left and right I didn't consider for a second.
Jan-19-20  WinKing: <OhioChessFan: Such ridiculous picks can't possibly pay off.>

Ahhh but they did. I laughed when I saw his picks <OCF> but it is <Diademas> who will have the last laugh.

Jan-19-20  WinKing: How many times did <Switch> used to low-ball us. That used to drive me crazy.
Jan-19-20  WinKing: Tomorrow, Monday, January 20th, is a Rest Day for the players. The tournament resumes on Tuesday, January 21st.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 8 Recap **
The Mysterious Curse of <Winky's> Psych-ops continues. It is rumored that his mind games have impacted the entire game instead of just the leader. That round, we had 3 games where nobody scored! Even stranger, <Diademas> scored 19 of the total 76 collected by the entire group of contestants. And that was after he inexplicably picked like 10 wins and draws of 1 and 2 moves! Oddly enough, <Winky> appealed to <Switch> and his expertise at Lowball Poker to explain why it worked. Meanwhile, <amw> continues to shrug off all attempts to distract him and he still leads 3 Rankers. While he claims there is no distraction, it must be noted he <did> turn in an improper entry that round and was able to rush into the playing arena at the very last second with a corrected version. <chessmoron> continues to quietly lead the other Ranker, as quietly as someone 7' 6" can.

In other news, <chnebelgrind> has started imitating <Winky> and is trying to distract <wordfunph> as he leads ChessBookie. <OCF> gave an Oscar worthy performance as a whiny contestant who thinks this game is just too hard. He was just getting started when <chessmoron> glared at him, and <OCF> realized at that point he should stop. We did manage to complete that round without any more fisticuffs. But <juan> and <Diademas> are still feeling the adrenaline, as both of them were reported to be saying they'd have given McGregor a better match than Cowboy did.

It's a total madhouse here, and <chessmoron> "suggested" to the Tata Steel TD that the tournament take a day off. He wisely agreed, and all the contestants here can step back from the frenzied competition and regroup.

Can <amw> and <chessmoron> hold on to their leads? Where will <Winky's> mind games strike next? Will we have any more contestants leave for an MMA match? Is it possible that <Diademas> has invented a new strategy that will take over the Prediction Contest the way analytics took over baseball? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pressing questions. 5 rounds to go in our exciting contest.
