<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Penguincw: < lostemperor: Wow I beat the Penguin with one point in the Moves+Bonus Ranker. >

It burns, gah! I had a 1 point lead in the correct version of the R8 standings, but I end up losing by 1 point. Just needed Duda - Giri to play <one> more move, and the solo gold would've been mine in that ranker.

Feb-27-23  Golden Executive: Thanks to <OCF>, <chessmoron> and <Penguincw> for running the show and congratulations to all of the medal winners, particularly to <le> on his triple crown.

See you guys next time!

Apr-08-23  chessmoron: Hey <friends> We will be having a prediction contest on this <World Championship Match>. Get you prediction hat on, and let's PREDICT!

All predictions must be posted on OhioChessFan chessforum before Apr 9th, 2023 at 5:00AM Eastern time.

Since there's 14 games total, predict as many games as you think the winner will need to score 7.5 points, the number needed to win the match. Then predict the number of moves each game you think will be played.

Be warned, if a game is not played and you predicted a game result, you will lose 3 points. ie. If game 14 is not played and you predict a game 14, you lose 3 points."

Posting format:

G1: Nepomniachtchi-Ding (1-0, 1/2, or 0-1) (# of moves played)

G2: Ding-Nepomniachtchi (1-0, 1/2, or 0-1) (# of moves played)

3. Only Moves+Bonus Ranker (See OhioChessFan chessforum 's profile on what that is about) will be used to medal.

4. I will post results after game 4, game 8, game 12, and game 14.

Teyss: <Messiah> Naturally, I'm just aiming for second place. It's in line with a WCC without the #1 player.

I'll try to have a go at your contest, will be difficult since I can barely understand the questions.

Gents, don't want to boast but <Teyss: G1 Nepo - Ding 1/2, 50> was really close. Closer than Messiah. Or Firouzjias.
