| May-23-07 | | Marco65: <WBP> Thanks indeed. <Eyal> I'm starting to visit their forum, it's interesting that they found 18...Bb7 a very good move at the beginning, then they found the good 19.g6 reply! Interesting how computers find obviously wrong a move that humans deem good. |
| May-24-07 | | Akavall: <TheAlchemist> Is that ok to post a link to your forum on MFO? |
| May-24-07 | | Akavall: I didn't delete the double post because perhaps cg.com moderators want to take a look at it, since there appears to be a bug. Sorry. |
| May-24-07 | | meloncio: Congratulations for Milan win! Though for obvious reasons, my heart was rooting for Liverpool. |

 | | TheAlchemist: <Akavall> Of course, be my guest. <Akavall> Of course, be my guest. <meloncio> Gracias! |
| May-24-07 | | Akavall: <TheAlchemist> Hehe. Thank You. |
| May-24-07 | | Marco65: <TheAlchemist> Funny thing. Now that this effort is over I'm reading "How to reassess your chess - the workbook" on the bus, and I tried to solve one of the exercise. Then I looked at the solution, and it was Fischer-Petrosian Portoroz! I missed the solution, by playing as Fischer did, so I can't complain too much. |

| May-26-07 | | brankat: <TheAlchemist> <CG Team> I wish to thank You all for taking part in the Consultation game. A good and exciting fight, together with a lot of first-class analysis. 123 days of battle! Admirable. At the same time I fell sorry that I've not been able to be more involved in these last few weeks. Once again: both Teams, thank You. |
| May-27-07 | | Zebra: I was wondering if the surviving members of the team (and perhaps one or two "guests") would be interested in an invitational mini on Gameknot. |
| May-27-07 | | Zebra: Suggested format:
7 players, no rating restrictions. (I believe we play four games at once, fixtures organized automatically by GK.) Time (Fischer time control): start 3 days, increment 1 day, max 5 days - i.e. relatively quick play. Please let me know if there is any interest and any comments on the format (I can change it). |
May-27-07
 | | TheAlchemist: <Zebra> Honestly, I'm not really interested, but thanks anyway, I hope others will be. |
| May-28-07 | | Marco65: <Zebra> I'd like to start playing a corr game by my own, but just a game at a time! And not in this period. So thanks for the invitation but I decline. |
| May-28-07 | | Zebra: OK, let's leave it then. Maybe see some of you on gameknot. |
| May-28-07 | | Marco65: <Zebra> I'm not registered there yet but I'll probably do in a month. Are you "Zebra" there as well? |
| May-28-07 | | Zebra: No, I play there as "orangutan". I will look forward to a challenge, whenever :) |

 | | TheAlchemist: <princeofdragons> Oh, Your Majesty, it's such an honor. Thanks, I've been doing fine, I hope you have too. Thanks, I'll have a listen. I guess I didn't pay enough attention when listening before, I'll try and fix that :-). Also, I plan on listening to the whole It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back someday, I read it should be one of the best albums ever. |

| Jun-22-07 | | brankat: <TheAlchemist> Thank You so much for links to the Collections. They are quite precious :-) It is hard to tell whether they are <Bufon>'s work. Their spirit, certainly the contents, would suggest so. But the introductory notes were written in more or less perfect English, which <Bufon> was not capable of, unless he hired somebody to do it for him, Also, the notes show intelligence, although somewhat perverted, which is IMO beyond <Bufon?>'s capacity. Either way, the whole thing is quite amusing.
Actually, it just occurred to me, I'll post the copies of some introductions in my forum. For entertainment. |

| Jul-13-07 | | Amorphous Codeine: Hi!
Interesting game, a few points that came up while I was going through it. Perhaps 11.exf6 would have been better, because it forces black to weaken his kingside pawns if he's to keep level on material- 11..gxf6 12.Bh6 (anything other than 11..gxf6 seems to loose a N) Although white began an interesting attack with f5 and f6, I think it would have been much better to complete development first with Bd3 before pushing the f-pawn. But on the whole a very interesting game using pins and good mobilization to bring the rooks into attack! |

 | | TheAlchemist: <Amorphous Codeine> Hi! Thanks for stopping by. Interesting point about exf6, I think that was automatism on my part, I probably recaptured without even thinking it through. You're also right about f5 etc., sometimes I have these strange impulses :-) |

 | | TheAlchemist: Just came home from a concert by Robert Plant & The Strange Sensation, I couldn't miss it since they were playing right here in a nearby town. I wasn't familar really with his solo work, he is and looks older now, with baggier clothes, no more unbuttoned shirts, he sings an "octave" lower, but he's still very much vibrant and a showman, still a God. I missed some of the Led Zep classics, like Stairway, Kashmir, Rock & Roll etc., they did a few "minor" songs, but the finale, with Whole Lotta Love was still incredible. As was their rendition of For What It's Worth by Buffalo Springfield. A very good singer and flutist from here was a (surprise) guest, she sang and played in a couple of songs during the encore. Overall, it was great, I never thought I'd get to see him live. |
| Aug-05-07 | | meloncio: <Whole Lotta Love was still incredible> Incluiding its strange original 'intermezzo', I hope. I remember how we speculated about it in early 70's, "Hey, is it the noise of a sinking ship? or maybe a train?". Ah, it was great to be young... |

| Aug-14-07 | | brankat: <TheAlchemist> This year marks 100th anniversary of Vasja Pirc's birth! I just found out on Pirc page that a commemorative stamp was issued for the occasion: http://www.posta.si/DezelaZnamk/Vie... I wonder if You could do me one big favour. If I was to give You my residence/mailing address, could You send me a picture postcard of Portoroz with this stamp on it? Or maybe even better, a card in an envelope with one spare stamp inside. Assuming the stamps are still available. Would be greatly appreciated. Thank You so much. |
