 | | WannaBe: The time/date are set, they will not change. I will have a tourney in Sept. then again in Oct. Pending on the participation level and how much I *ENJOY* running it, it will be a (first saturday) monthly thing. It's only once a month, you can possibly adjust your schedule to play. If not, wait a month and play in Oct. =) |

 | | WannaBe: <FICSwoodpusher> Thanks for the heads up, have fun at the picnic/simul. I'll hold at least another one in Sept. (Then I'll decide if I want to continue this on a monthly basis or just let it rest. =) |

| Aug-21-06 | | ganstaman: Can you post the date of the first tournament here so we don't have to wade through the Kibitzer's Cafe or actually remember the date? Also, babaschess is great. Thanks for the link and suggestion. |

 | | WannaBe: This guy is a genius.

 | | WannaBe: Another genius.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060824... |
|
| Aug-24-06 | | hitman84: <Some Indians regard Hitler as just another historical figure and have little knowledge about the Holocaust, in which 6 million European Jews were systematically killed during World War II. The swastika symbol, which was appropriated by the Nazis, was originally an ancient Hindu symbol and it is displayed all over India to bring luck.> This is true!
I never read much about holocaust in history books when I was a student.
The same way you guys have no knowledge of what was happening elsewhere. |
|
Aug-24-06
 | | WannaBe: First off, during my research I came across Swastika, Ontario, Canada. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swasti... Secondly, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika covers the subject of the symbol pretty well. The symbol, when used in religion, is not rotated, and has 4 dots inside the symbol's arms. The usage by the Nazi, have a 45 degree tilt, and no dots inside the arms. (You can clearly see that on the restaurant's awning.) Being a WWII buff, and a student of history, calling the Nazi's symbol a 'Swastika' is a mistake. (Probably similiar to calling American natives, Indian. Which genius gave them that name?!) |
|
| Aug-24-06 | | hitman84: Its just like how the whole world is made to think that Indians and Pakistanis are great enemies.Which aint true. A Pakistani girl was my classmate in high school and she really enjoyed studying with us. @#$%ing politicians!
|
|
| Aug-24-06 | | hitman84: Its obvious he used the Nazi symbol as he named the restaurant Hitler's cross. Its good he changed it.
There are lots of Israelis in India.
Its easy to say I'm a history buff..
but to know the right facts is difficult. |

Maybe they were indeed Indians(Asians) :) |
