MissScarlett: Whoever uploaded the missing Niemann vs J Tin, 2022 game didn't do a very good job:

https://www.chessgames.com/nodejs/g...

I seem to recall Daniel mentioning there was a tool which periodically cleaned up messy PGNs. Is that right?

The second issue is that the Event tag has a different <tid> from the tournament collection (El Llobregat Open Chess (2022)) meaning that it's not a clickable link in the game header. Changing the tid is straightforward, but I mean to draw attention to the issue for future reference.

I apologize, I did some regex to remove all the timestamps and must of caused that. I'll get it fixed as soon as possible.

<I seem to recall Daniel mentioning there was a tool which periodically cleaned up messy PGNs. Is that right?>

We'll have to look into this

<The second issue is that the Event tag has a different <tid> from the tournament collection>

The <tid> has been fixed.

This has been discussed several times before, just do a search on <pgnfix> and see posts by <realdumptrump> and <chessgames> among others.

What's the idea?

Ah, you had to ask!

Here's another idea - fix the pronunciation links (part of AnnieK's legacy):

Keres vs Szabo, 1955 (kibitz #80)

Thanks <Z>!!

Dec-23-22  Messiah: <petemcd85: <Messiah: I have an improvement idea.>

What's the idea?>

It would be too easy if I told it. Definitely no one would play, for example, Twenty Questions by revealing the solution in the very first round or even before the game. Definitely no ice hockey manager would disclose the team tactics before the clash for the title. How ridiculous it would be, let's imagine, a GM to publish his or her entire opening book before a tourney!? Utter nonsense.

Guess it on your own!

Dec-26-22  stone free or die: Oh that meddlesome <Missy>.

Now that Christmas is over, I think it quite fair to take up the question.

I could offer <Susan> and admins this timeless advice:

Fool me twice, shame on me.

No. There is a work around to what <steve> did. <steve> is working on fixing that, amongst other problems by upgrading to AWS cognito.

Dec-27-22  Messiah: Janowski vs J Mortimer, 1902

Not all diagrammed positions are appearing in the kibitzing area. Possibly it is a problem in the javascript renderer engine in my browser, possibly it is an error on the serverside, I did not do any detective work. I am using Firefox 108.0 (64 bit) on a Fedora 37.

[***@*** ~]$ cat /etc/fedora-release
Fedora release 37 (Thirty Seven)
[***@*** ~]$ rpm -q firefox
firefox-108.0-2.fc37.x86_64

It seems to work now. Is it still not showing for you?

Dec-27-22  diceman: <The position was now:

7k/1p4p1/p1b1r1pt/2RpNp2/3P1P2/4P1RP/PP3KP1/8

After 23...Ke7?, the position was quite ugly for Black:

7r.pp1bk1p1/2p1pqpr/3nNp2/2BP1P2/4PQR1/PP4PP/2R3K1>

These didn't work, but they have errors.

Now that my 2 hours long ban lifted, I can respond: it works, thank you.
