The chess world never sleeps. Latest games from superGM events are in popular demand (see every Hot Games list on front page during such events). Promptly supply that demand. Run <cg> like a business, not a plaything.

Likewise, appreciate and realise assets - bring back <George Wallace> to improve site. State objections, if any.

May-08-23  stone free or die: <<Missy> Likewise, appreciate and realise assets - bring back <George Wallace> to improve site. State objections, if any.>

Is this an indication that <Missy> is becoming, as dear leader Kim Jong-un might say, a dotard?

After all, <Susan> has already addressed this plea five times now.

I think I'll mention the need for <CG> to address the obsolescence of the Wesley So page.

Seens a much more pressing, and righteously just, crusade for those who adhere to the true faith and the path of justice.

May-08-23  stone free or die: BTW- I would like to note the irony that <Missy> first enjoins the good fight of bringing chess topics to <CG>, i.e. current tournaments, while next asking for the restoration of a member who made almost no chess contributions to the site - openly stating his purpose and interested were almost entirely on other topics.

One merely need read his personal forum for clear illustration of that.

And while we're mentioning it - shouldn't <CG> shut that forum down while the user is banned?

Tournaments will be updated 3x a day. Mornings, mid-day and nights. Sometimes it takes TWIC a few days to put up new tournaments.
If there's a tournament that needs to be put up and TWIC does not have it, just let me know and I will find it on chess24.

<stone free or die: And while we're mentioning it - shouldn't <CG> shut that forum down while the user is banned?>
I'll let <steve> know. It seems someone has been logging into his account recently . We'll look into it. Thanks

Susan Freeman: After careful consideration,I regret to inform Chessgames members that there will be a membership fee increase to $39 per year. The 2 and 3 years plans will be eliminated. There has not been a rate increase in many years, and unfortunately it is now necessary. This will go into effect June 15,2023. As always there will be no auto renewal.

Stonehenge: Where has the possibility to donate a Premium Membership to another user gone? Or maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly.

Also, make an option to donate to CG while you guys are at it.

Not that anyone wants to donate but that's another matter :)

Susan Freeman: T’here is a donation area on the main page. You are right. It is rarely used. Yes you can always buy a membership for a friend.

Forgotten about that, thanks.

May-09-23  Messiah: For a several days now the VPN service I am using is b& from CG: I am getting http 403 errors, like in the old days, when someone presumably tried to compromise the site. Probably it is still the same on the tor network (I am too lazy to test it), so although the account <Messiah> may not be b&, I am not able to access the site even in read-only mode, except when using the normal local ISP's connection. Well, this is very uncomfortable and awkward: could you please re-enable the access with VPN for already registered users? It worked quite well, I guess. Thanks.

Willber G: General point re. kibitzing: Posts should not be deleted by moderators without a reason being given.
May-09-23  technical draw: I've just received the message of the increase in the premium membership dues starting June 15, 2023. I am paid up to March 30, 2024. How will that affect me?
May-09-23  technical win: I think it will only have a positive effect on you. You just have to increase your joke fee to 25 dollars at the same time. <technical win>

Susan Freeman: ,< Wilber> maybe not. Often a post is deleted and all other pertinent posts are deleted. We call it collateral damage

Willber G: <Susan Freeman: ,< Wilber> maybe not. Often a post is deleted and all other pertinent posts are deleted.>

In which case that's the reason that should be given. But the recent reasonable conversation between me and <optimal play> was deleted without either of us knowing why:

Frederick Rhine (kibitz #760)

<We call it collateral damage>

Whatever you call it doesn't address the issue. If people know why their posts are deleted it would help to clarify what is unacceptable. Apart from, of course, being the civil thing to do.

saffuna: The simplest solution would be just to add a post saying "Posts by x, x, and x were deleted."
May-10-23  stone free or die: If we're reviewing posts that got deleted I would like to be included in the review.

I think I might have the highest number of posts which were deleted on questionable grounds.

As I've said before, I invite scrutiny of all my posts - and their contexts.

May-10-23  stone free or die: While I'm here - could <CG> please reactivate my <realdumptrump> account's posting privileges?

We need it now more than ever.

(You can confine it to <Rogoff> if you must)?

petemcd85: <Willber G: n which case that's the reason that should be given. But the recent reasonable conversation between me and <optimal play> was deleted without either of us knowing why:> Willber G, I apologize. After reviewing deletions, there were just a few reasonable posts that should not have been deleted.

<If people know why their posts are deleted it would help to clarify what is unacceptable.> I will create an enhancement so that when posts are deleted it will let the user know the post deleted and the reason why it was deleted. As of right now it only notifies users that a post was deleted if they are placed on probation.
