Anyway, Happy Birthday!

FSR: Presumably today's POTD (Nakamura-Inarkiev) should have begun a half-move early and been "Black to Play," rather than "White to play." White lost the game.

Quo vadis CG?

Dec-16-19  WorstPlayerEver: So I found the hidden entrance..

About results and info regarded to current tournaments. I do not mind. The info is usually easy to find by giving a link, as it is there now regarded to Jeru GP. So for me it has no priority, just saying.

What I'm worried about is the cluttered UI when it comes to clicking. For instance, I found it hard to hit 'Recent Kibitzing.' Main page. I have to zoom in (this activity has bugs afaiac) because otherwise I will end up in Chessbookie....

Chessbookie has a huuuuuge square clicking option, while 'Recent Kibitzing' has a meeeeeeniscule square... While both squares are very close together when it comes to clicking on them. Bad design.

Should it not be they other way around? It's a chess site! I'm not too bovvered, although it's unnecessarily annoying, but what about new members? Chess players are usually not known for having a great sense of patience.

Btw this bad UI design is consequently used through this site. Even at this page. 'Earlier Kibitzing' frequently make me end up in the profile of the first poster of a page. Again: zooming in is not really an option.

So yeah, there should be a mobile version. But there is not, so one has to look for alternatives afaiac. I think this is a serious concern.

Susan Freeman: But, but wait ....there IS a mobile version. I use it all the time. <Worst PlayerEver> I am working on hiring a clean up person to tweak the minor irritations of which you speak. Maybe bring it all into this century? Wouldn't that be fun? Taking job applications. lousy pay, but great satisfaction. 2020 will be the best year yet.

Richard Taylor: <Susan Freeman> Do you recall the messages I sent re my games to be processed? It was this year. I also sent an email but it seemed it didn't get through?

I was going to put interesting games on my "place" in the comments section. Or resubmit. These include draws and losses as I think many such games are or can be very interesting esp. if close fought.

I hope all is well for you and others going into the Xmas season etc here it is warm, or was until a few days ago! (And we had a volcanic eruption which was tragic). I suppose it is colder over there where you and others are if not snowing in places.

Also, I haven't been here, for a bit, I am surprised to see the competition (that Domdaniel and others used to love doing) is not on or is that yet to start? I don't do it as I find it too hard but it is kind infectious to watch. Forgive me if announcements re this have already been made.

Dec-20-19  Robed.Bishop: <Susan Freeman: But, but wait ....there IS a mobile version. I use it all the time.>

I have made a cursory search for a mobile version of Chessgames without success, at least for an iPhone.

Perhaps you could post a link?

Because of the ads that I get while accessing CG on my phone, I've become reluctant to view the site on my phone.

WannaBe: <Robed.Bishop> It's not an app in the usual sense, (Google Play Store, Apple Store, etc...) more like the web page detects you are not on a traditional device and modifies the page's content that is displayed.
