Jul-04-07 | | YouRang: I hope my "lucky charm" streak continues. I'm going to Dodger Stadium tonight for the Dodgers-Braves game (and 4th of July fireworks show!). |
Jul-04-07
 | | WannaBe: <YouRang> By tradition, you have to leave after the 7th inning stretch, I hope the firework show takes place <BEFORE> the 7th inning stretch! =) |
Jul-05-07
 | | cu8sfan: <WannaBe: <YouRang> By tradition, you have to leave after the 7th inning stretch> Lol! This is so stupid. People in LA leave a ballgame early to beat the traffic. As if traffic wasn't a 24 hour problem in LA. (-: |
Jul-05-07 | | NakoSonorense: Traffic is not that bad at 3AM or 4AM in LA, at least it's not on weekends. I should try going out to a party during weekdays to see how bad it gets.. But then again, there's school to go to next day, so that might not be a good decision... =p |
Jul-05-07
 | | WannaBe: <NakoSonorense: Traffic is not that bad at 3AM or 4AM in LA,...) We have only an hour where there's no traffic. :-) |
Jul-05-07 | | YouRang: So much for being a lucky charm. Dodgers lose 5-2. :-( But the fireworks show was great! :-)
After the game, they let fans onto the field to watch fireworks. Our group didn't go, however. We were stationed way up in the top deck. Not very close to the field, but close to the fireworks. :-o |
Jul-05-07
 | | WannaBe: <YouRang> I was watching the tele-cast of the game, but I couldn't find Lurch in the stands! :-) |
Jul-06-07
 | | WannaBe: <cu8sfan> You're really making me think here! (Our game on GK) What did I do to deserver this torture? =) |
Jul-07-07
 | | WannaBe: I don't have a clue on what I'm doing in our game on GK, I just made my move because I'm running low on time. :-( You have a great position, a real hard nut to crack, and I've looked at it again, and again, but can't find a way to do anything with it. |
Jul-07-07
 | | cu8sfan: <WannaBe> Well, it's who wins that counts and not who has the better position. I may be fine at the moment but have many ways to go wrong before this is over. Besides, our fight really means something as we are next to each other in the standings. |
Jul-07-07
 | | WannaBe: <cu8sfan> You have a lot more games left than I do! You're in a much better tournament position than I. |
Jul-13-07
 | | WannaBe: Good games, I'm still unwon (new word!) vs. you. |
Jul-13-07
 | | WannaBe: <cu8sfan> I was wrong, I went back and looked at the record, I lost one to <emperoratahualpa> then he timed out on a game. |
Jul-21-07 | | TheBB: So... are you swiss? Or do you just live here?
I'm norwegian, but I work in Zürich this summer, so I was lucky enough to get to visit Biel at the right time :). |
Jul-23-07
 | | cu8sfan: <TheBB> I wrote the answer in your forum. |
Jul-23-07 | | brankat: <cu8sfan> 6,000 posts! Congratulations. |
Jul-23-07
 | | cu8sfan: <brankat: <cu8sfan> 6,000 posts! Congratulations.> Indeed, I hadn't noticed it! I once was 7th in the list but now you need almost 10k to be up there. ChessGames.com Statistics Page |
Jul-23-07 | | brankat: <cu8sfan> <I once was 7th in the list but now you need almost 10k to be up there. ChessGames.com Statistics Page> Yes. At the time You were 28, now it's 31. Slowing down with age :-) Btw, out of curiosity, does #8 in Your username stand for "B"? :-) |
Jul-24-07
 | | cu8sfan: <Slowing down with age :-)> I am, aren't I? Der Geniesser schweigt (he who enjoys keeps silent). <Btw, out of curiosity, does #8 in Your username stand for "B"? :-)> Actually it stands for "b". (-: |
Jul-24-07 | | brankat: <Cubs Fan> Is Baseball a popular sport in Switzerland? I have not lived in Europe for some 26 years, but what I remember from before, the sport had very small following then. At the time most of people probably didn't even know what Baseball was. I still don't, or just about. But, I suppose things may have changed. "Americanization" ? :-)? |
Jul-25-07 | | meloncio: <brankat><...At the time most of people probably didn't even know what Baseball was...> Now, we really know what baseball is, but we still don't understand the rules. <"Americanization"?> I don't think so, just "TV-zation", :-) |
Jul-25-07
 | | cu8sfan: <Is Baseball a popular sport in Switzerland?> Not at all. We don't even have fields with a real diamond. We play on soccer fields. <I don't think so, just "TV-zation", :-)> I wish! I can't watch Baseball on TV. I can watch via the internet, though. Europeans think Baseball is boring. I find Soccer boring. A 0:0 game in soccer is terrible while a 0:0 baseball game is a great game. I love pitchers duels, I'm not a fan of the power explosion that's taken place over the last decade or so. |
Jul-25-07 | | brankat: <cu8sfan> <I'm not a fan of the power explosion that's taken place over the last decade or so.> I assume You are referring the US industrial/military/neo-colonial power explosion :-) |
Aug-01-07 | | YouRang: When I saw that Pelletier won his game today, I thought "wow - cu8sfan just won another jackpot!" But it wasn't you! Traitor! ;-) |
Aug-01-07
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: It was me! Does that mean I'm also a traitor? ;-) |
