jessicafischerqueen: Heh- Thank GHOD for the United States of America.

There is a mother lode Russian website that offers free downloads of chess e-books (in Russian)-

But when I downloaded a few, and tried to open the zip or rar files, it always said "corrupted file."

So I thought- hmmm.... Korea does not like Russia...

So I used my TOP SECRET program that gives me a fake proxy IP address- and AMERICANS are allowed to download from this Russian site!!

Ahahahah

I now have access to hundreds of rare photos of Russian chessmasters.

Thanks to who?

The United States Fake Proxy Bureau, that's who.

heh

Mar-06-11  morfishine: <jessicafischerqueen>...<...by all means- any and all gems you want to post in here I'd be happy to listen to> I'll try my best, but you are clearly way out of my league. Your note on originality, Webber, the Gregorian era etc. is illuminating, to say the least.

I was searching U-tube for a certain Vivaldi piece and came across many works I'd never heard! So much for me being an expert on Vivaldi (although I do have about 70 compositions, concertos, etc of his). Anyways, I finally found it. Hope you like it, I think its just lovely: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...

Future month there might be chess tournament in Kazan days 3rd to 27th May. Some chances to find more audio then.

Mar-06-11  LIFE Master AJ: <Jess> Congrats on the fine work on Rubinstein and Polish chess.

My only question is - in my forum - you said you cited the link. But when I watched the video (several times) ... I did not see it.

What am I missing here??? (Probably some simple thing, but I don't know much about these video's.)

jessicafischerqueen: <Morf> thanks for that "L'Amoroso" what a great title for a piece.

<Vivaldi>- his sound is iconic of "classical" music.

When I listen to "L'Amoroso" I think of sylvan glades with a Greek Temple in the middle of it.

And tea and biscuits.

This is a composition of rare beauty and power- thanks for showing it to me, as I hadn't heard it before.

Best regards,
Jess

jessicafischerqueen: <Travis> I love that "Every little Thing she Does" and I never heard it-

It's so "60s" in feel, my favorite period of pop music.

Also, thanks to this song, I now know where <The Hollies> GOT THEIR ENTIRE ACT FROM.

Mar-07-11  morfishine: Wonderful! That piece moves me like no other. I just love it and am glad you do too.

Did you have any questions about the copy stand idea? Or did the song parody make you too ill to think about it?

<A.J. on Lesbians and Homsexuals

I cannot stand your life-style. I think you are sick, warped and demented. It does not matter if you believe in the Bible, as I do ... or if you believe in (the) evolution (nonsense). Either way, you won't reproduce ... and you will pass away. (Thank God!) As many preachers have suggested, homosexuals ... and their life-style ... is a cancer that is eating away at the very fabric of American life!

YOU DON'T HAVE ANY RIGHTS, AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED!!! You should NOT be employed ... especially as a teacher or in a public office, profession, or in any job that is paid for by public dollars. (Who wants a raving homosexual man teaching your son??? Not me!)

You have no right to get married, as far as I am concerned, you should go back into the closet. I am NOT for rights for gays ... of any kind. (And I don't buy the argument that you were born that way. A lot of socialistic nonsense ... if you ask me.)

Read your Bible! In the Old Testament, this type of sickness was dealt with in one way. They took you to the edge of the settlement and stoned you to death. No mercy, no worrying about your supposed rights, etc.

You have no right to have sex with a child ... or to practice sodomy. There is NO constitutional right for this type of behavior!!! (It does not exist.) The Constitution was NEVER intended to be a MORAL document ... only a legal document. (If you want a moral document, read the Bible. Pay attention to the Laws of Moses, especially the Ten Commandments!)

One person sent me an e-mail, rejoicing in the fact that "they" had gotten my web pages closed on another server. IF this is true, it only reinforces my beliefs that homosexuals are sick, twisted, bitter and angry people. And they are unable to treat people fairly. Apparently, they will attack you mercilessly if you exhibit views that they do not approve of! (The constitution of the the USA - means nothing to them. They practice complete freedom of speech, but try to destroy you if you ask for the same rights! January, 2006.)>

  jessicafischerqueen: <Mr. Owls>

Yes of course it's a flip flop on my part- I'll try to explain, but if it doesn't make any sense, well this is the best I can do.

No I don't agree with <AJ's> views on homosexuality, and I would argue strongly against them, particularly in terms of public policy in my country or the USA or anywhere really. In fact, my first meeting with <AJ> at this site constituted a rather violent argument with him over this issue.

However, I happen to like <AJ>.

I happen to like or even love a lot of people who hold views I strongly disagree with.

I'm also grateful to <AJ> for his years and years of service to chess history and analysis. I've been reading and using his web pages for years, and often include his work in my chess history videos.

Like I said last year, and as you reported in your fine "round up" for <brankat> of recent CG history, I don't like seeing people gang up on <AJ> and I don't understand why they persist- and it's the same basic handful of people.

It seems to me they are addicted to be on self-appointed "AJ watch" for the supposed good of the website.

I find this nonsensical. If <AJ> wants to upload games where he pounds one of his low rated students, that's his business.

If there was any real "danger" to the website from this practice the administrators wouldn't upload the games.

But they do upload the games, so that closes the case- unambiguously-- on the "official" validity of them as far as the owners of this website are concerned.

I'm not sure why the admins don't just clear out the hateful posts on <AJ's> game threads. If they want to use a heavy hand, they can, and it's effective. I've been suspended FOUR times from this website for example.

Now I'm cured!

I realize <AJ> responds in kind, but this vicious circle just goes on and on and why don't they just leave the guy alone? That would end it.

Finally, to return to my flip flop, as you know I recently hysterically demanded that some anti-gay rhetoric be deleted from a forum, but after reading <Ohio Chess Fan's> take on my actions, I figured he was right- I won't be doing that again.

I should have either kept my counsel, or argued politely, even if strongly, against the anti-gay rhetoric I saw, instead of demanding censorship.

My change of mind on this approach resulted mainly from <Ohio's> teaching.

jessicafischerqueen: Oh and from <achieve's> teaching- that my hysterical outburst on the admin forum demanding the anti-gay post be removed was out of "proportion," and, perhaps more importantly, "failed the Christmas test" since I did it on Christmas Eve, I think.

Anyways, two people I have a lot of respect for- <achieve> and <ohio>- thought I was off point on this and after I stopped feeling enraged, I judged they were correct.
