 | | jessicafischerqueen: Aha that does sound frustrating. Thanks, I will be sure to keep an accurate log of what I submit and when. Another question- is there a bug that prevents new games submissions appearing on the player pages of both players in question? Shouldn't there be a code that automatically deposits a new game on both player pages? I have noticed dozens of games <Petrov v. Another guy> that have failed to appear on one of the player's pages. |
|
| Jan-28-13 | | crawfb5: What I've tried to do with game submissions is put a note to myself in the game collection under construction with the submission date. It's a reminder to periodically check, as CG has yet to implement anything as basic as a notification system. |

 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <jessicafischerqueen> Complaining to the admins about how long you've waited does work quite often :-) <I have noticed dozens of games <Petrov v. Another guy> that have failed to appear on one of the player's pages.> Any examples? Pretty sure this isn't supposed to happen. (There is, however, an <undocumented Chessgames feature> that can make games difficult to locate if a) they were played in the same year as a lot of other games and b) games from that year appear on more than one page: sometimes (but not very often) it happens such a game can't decide which page it's supposed to be on, and compromises by not appearing on either. But such games are still part of the player file, and in any case I can't see this effect hiding dozens of games from you. If this <is> part of the problem here and you're still using 25 games per page, switching to 100 games per page might help.) By the way, did you notice this very nice <fawn pawn> game from a couple days ago? Carlsen vs Nakamura, 2013 |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Aha thanks for those tips you guys.
I will <Switch> to 100 games per view to see if that sorts out the mystery. Who knew? I'm off to find the supasicrit switch now. |
|

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Switch> genius! On 100 a page view these "phantom games" seem to be appearing. I'm still checking but it appears you were correct. How could this happen? Is the code haunted? |

| Feb-02-13 | | Thanh Phan: <jessicafischerqueen> I have been a bit busy watching the Jewel in the Palace series and found it was very much worth the time spent watching. Others in the family are watching the series now. I see them busy with thought, excitement or frustration at something that happened during an episode. If I had known there was so many parts in the series I might have hesitated to start watching them, in the future that won't influence my choice. There are more dramas that we are starting to watch, often with subtitles and many of them are very well made |

| Feb-04-13 | | Hungarian Chess: <Thanh> Thanks so much for the heads up on that series! I will be sure to check it out once I get back to Korea and download it. QUESTION: Do they offer it with Magyar stubtitles? |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <H> well met!
Just yesterday I was perusing the first raft of TOP SECRET PHOTOS you already sent, and enjoying them mightily, I might add. I've been considering publishing a few in "Better Than Your Home and Garden (Nashville edition)" but ideally I'd like to keep the sale price in its entirety. I'll run that by my lawyer first, of course. I'll give you a proper emu reply tomorrow- My Mom is taking me to the bank with the idea of demanding they give me my own credit card. She's willing to put up our entire family fortune as collateral, trusting me (perhaps foolishly) not to spend all of it by buying expensive tanning equipment on the internet. On a rare serious note, I don't think I'll get the card. VISA refused me last January on the grounds that they don't recognize employment in Korea as actual employment, and who can blame them? At the end of the day, even if Donald Trump signed on as my guarantor, if VISA doesn't want to issue a card they won't. I still remember their infamous advertising campaign from the 80s: "We've got your ovaries in a VISA." |

| Feb-04-13 | | hms123: <jess> You continue to crack me up. Why aren't you writing short stories in the style of Stephen Leacock, Robert Benchley, James Thurber, etc. You could write them in Hungarian if you like. I am sure <Annie> would translate them for wider consumption as soon as her lawyer negotiates an appropriate contract for himself...I mean, her. |
|
| Feb-04-13 | | Thanh Phan: <Hungarian Chess> I am not sure how many languages the Jewel in the Palace/Dae Jang Geum series has been translated into, The wiki says it was syndicated in over 60 countries around the world under the titles of Jewel in the Palace and The Great Jang-Geum ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dae_Ja... |

|
| Feb-04-13 | | theagenbiteofinwit: <VISA refused me last January on the grounds that they don't recognize employment in Korea as actual employment, and who can blame them?> Visa is absolutely horrible abroad. When I lived in Russia, they arbitrarily blocked all charges on my card right in the middle of my plans to fly back to the U.S. because apparently Visa doesn't believe that people can travel to other countries, and when they see charges there it's obviously identity theft. I had to borrow money from friends to buy a ticket back home. It was actually indirectly fortunate, since I got mugged that week. |
