 | | jessicafischerqueen: My Dear <Ohio>
Sorry to leave a <brocho> hanging again but I've just now finished work for the week. BROTIP: never be a "smarty pants."
Here I was thinking how smart it would be if I learned enough Korean to manage a classroom by myself, and not have to pretend to actually teach a real lesson because of the Korean co-teacher in the room watching me. According to my cunning plan, once they let me teach my classes by myself, I could then simply show Simpsons re-runs and sleep in my chair. BACKFIRE. They have noticed I can speak enough Korean to do 30,000 extra duties and save the Korean teachers lots of time. Nowadays my Principal's favorite hobby seems to be ordering me to teach new classes and demanding I submit real lesson plans and teaching materials. Oh well I suppose it keeps him busy. It's certainly keeping me busy. User: who

ahahahahaha
My favorite so far.
Also Jinx! I recently showed my students a video of Britney learning the "Gangnam Style" dance from Korea's legendary PSY. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZmk...
They were singularly unimpressed. Ah Brit your career's all but over. QUESTION: Will she go out gracefully, like (arguably) Madonna, or will she attempt one more comeback with some kind of massive, yet highly questionable, gesture? I never like her myself.
ahaha |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: hehe the convoluted genius of your spelling and syntax rivals <Annie's> "tank euphoria," which might be the best one I've seen yet. However, your answer gets much extra credit for actually answering the question I posed. You are on a roll so I'll try a much harder one.
QUESTION: Who killed the <Monkey Ranker>, and why? |
|
May-16-13
 | | OhioChessFan: Per User: britney User: dies
User: lolololol I let the <Monkey Ranker> fade into oblivion for a couple reasons. First, present company excluded, nobody seemed interested in it. Second, it took some time I didn't want to spend. Third, and most important, (forgive the poor grammar here, I don't feel the need for "ly" after all these words) the parameters of the game <chessmoron> runs on my forum are not conducive to a fake competitor. If you consider <YouRang> contest, 2 of the 3 work with the Monkey picking. There is no change at all in the scoring dynamics. But the third contest, Betting Ranker, never has the Monkey picking because it would upset the scoring for everyone else. My forum's entire contest is like that. When I have tried to use the Monkey's picks but not let them change the scoring of everyone else, it seemed to me that the Monkey wasn't playing anyway. I guess that's reason #4. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: Thanks for taking the time and effort to give such a comprehensive reply. I actually understood that.
I will always love the Monkey Ranker because years ago I used to report my picks (and failures) in <Eyal's> forum. It got so dismal that my only goal was to beat the Monkey Ranker, which, comically, I failed to do on more than a few occasions. <Eyal> tried to buck me up with many solicitous and comforting comments, but after a certain point I knew there's no way he had a straight face when he typed them in. ahahaha
Also, how great is the name "Monkey Ranker"?
Shouldn't there be a member here named "Monkey Ranker"? |

 | | Annie K.: <Jess> okiez, catch you in the morning (yours) then, me iz at work nao. :) |
|
| May-16-13 | | achieve: <Jess> from your contribution at the official page, copied (before it gets snowed under/in: <Why do we need to squabble about politics? I predict we hear nothing about "chess politics" from the esteemed World Champion and the esteemed Candidate from now until the end of the match. And no matter what the outcome, I predict no sour grapes from either. These have to be two of the nicest guys ever to meet in such a widely anticipated bout.> Seconded, Refreshing comments/intervention to say the least. Anand is such a class act - and the fact that Carlsen respects Anand as much as he does and the fact that they almost have a genuine affection for each-other may be a first in history, maybe in sport. Except the Williamses perhaps. Forget that - this is much much better. And let's hope commercial and other political elements will not interfere and this championship will be one for the ages. OTB though they will go at eachother no holding back. Perhaps a little shy in the first few games, but once blood is on the table there will be no stopping a grand battle unfolding, of that I am sure. |

| May-16-13 | | playground player: <Jessicafischerqueen> I didn't get where I am today without writing an article on John Locke, <"Is It OK for Christians to Like Locke?"> The excerpts you sent me, way back when, were very helpful. The article is in the current issue of <Faith For All Of Life>, information on which should be available at the Chalcedon Foundation (my esteemed employer) website, http://www.chalcedon.edu . Being a computer ignoramus, I have never learned how to navigate that website; otherwise I would just send you a link to the article. <YouRang> knows how, and you can probably figure it out. Anyhow, that's where the article is if you want to read it. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Ohio> I was hoping there'd be an actual <Monkey Ranker> member, and of course I thought of creating one. That said, I'm happy you didn't create one, but instead played by strict Cider House Blue Rules and constructed a <Monkey Ranker> from the existing ether. As you know I'm not a blue "purist" but I think it best to stay within the "true blue." We don't want to tempt fate. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <If it makes you feel better, I can assure you I had a straight face when I read them.> It doesn't.
However, reading your sentence certainly did. I laughed long and hard when I read it. You should add "ability to cheer people up" to your already long resume of CG.com chat skills. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Lee> I am equally useless at navigating a simple website. However I'm keen to read your important monograph on "If you only listened to me nobody would ever have to Locke their door," so I will dash off a note to the Talented Mr. You Rang (as played by Matt Damon). With Ripley on the case it'll be only a matter of time before I can read your monograph. |
