Annie K.: <Jessie> me iz at work nao... Your best bet is to try to get on chat in your morning - any time starting from 6:30 (your time) to 10:00 or a bit later. That's because 6:30 your time is 00:30 my time, which is when I get online after arriving home from work and feeding every cat in sight.

<muharrem: i do not know why people keep saying Carlsen won because Shirov blundered. even though 79th move would be sth like Ke7 or Kf5, <<<Carlsen was coming up with first Ne6 then Nc7, blocking b8 for black bishop.>>> come on people...>

Carlsen's <PIECE COORDINATION> in this line is just fabulous. The White c6-rook is just stupendously placed. First the White c6-rook <SUPPORTS> the White d8-knight moving to e6. Then the White c6-rook <SUPPORTS> the White e6-knight going to the c7-sq to <BLOCK THE GUARD LINE> of the Black h2-bishop, <CUTTING OFF> this critical <DEFENDER> by <BREAKING COMMUNICATION> with the b8-promotion square.

Beautiful, beautiful <PIECE COORDINATION>.

Do I read this correctly in that you are asking for a "second humming"?

You do realize that normally, with these events, if to occur at all, there is at least a millennium in between them?

I have something else for you meanwhile, let's see if it gets through. VLC player plays it.

Aug-06-13  Alien Math: Notes of [tor-announce] Tor security advisory: Old Tor Browser Bundles vulnerable,

This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 17.0.7 ESR [3]. The following versions of the Tor Browser Bundle include this fixed version: 2.3.25-10 (released June 26 2013) [4]
2.4.15-alpha-1 (released June 26 2013) [4]
2.4.15-beta-1 (released July 8 2013) [5]
3.0alpha2 (released June 30 2013) [6]

Tor Browser Bundle users should ensure they're running a recent enough bundle version, and consider taking further security precautions as described below. https://lists.torproject.org/piperm...

it appears that
only Windows users with vulnerable Firefox versions were actually exploitable by this attack.

(If you're not sure what version you have, click on "Help -> About Torbrowser" and make sure it says Firefox 17.0.7.

Good Heavens, indeed. Problem is that I've overused that phrase so much it won't have the necessary impact when I need it.

I did notice your savvy peacekeeping efforts, with a dose of your own wry humor thrown in.

One of the reasons I think this website is lucky to have you.

Aug-06-13  Karpova: <jess> you are lotsa?
Aug-06-13

WCC Editing Project: <Karpova> yes, I am lotsa.

Sorry I just dropped that post in your forum under another account- Two years ago I made the same charge about "resume fudging for vanity purposes" against <WGM Pogonina> under my JFQ handle, and in addition made a second charge that both she and her husband were unethical and arrogant.

This second charge was related to the incident during <The World v Pogonina> in which her husband wished to have access to "The World" forum as an embedded reporter, ostensibly to write an article about the match.

When "The World" began howling that this was an obvious conflict of interest- and it was, of course- both <WGM Pogonina> and her husband posted (in my opinion) the most high handed, arrogant replies to this objection.

Her husband then threatened me, demanding a retraction in a post reminiscent of the post in <the cheater of the month> thread in which <WGM Pogonina> recently threatened me. Who was she going to "report" me to? <Vladimir Putin>?

I didn't retract my charge then and I'll not do it this time either. That said, my choice of language was much too strong, to the point of being inaccurate. "Outright lie" is too strong and pejorative a term. I should have said "deliberate disingenuousness" But I get angry and then I start insulting people, it's not a character trait I'm proud of. I thought <KKDEREK's> post on this topic in your forum was well said. In addition, I posted my charge in the wrong place. I should have posted it on her player page. I posted it on the <cheater of the month> page because I happened to see her post there, and it brought back the memory of two years ago. I thought to myself, "kind of hypocritical of her to be pointing her finger at someone else's ethics, given the embedded reporter scandal and her still extant vanity padded website intro." That said, the implication of charging her with mendacious vanity on that particular thread was unfair and unjustified, because what she did and does bears no resemblance to anything as serious as cheating at chess.

I still believe it's accurate to call her on what I regard to be a form of unethical behavior. At the least, I regard it to be a form of obnoxious bragging and fudging the truth- not dissimilar to the chronic posting behavior of <Untitled Whatnot> and <GM "The Typesetter Did It">. The fact that she's currently one of the best women chess players in the world, personable, charming, and has a lot more going for her than those two guys I just mentioned makes her behavior worse, not better. She's not mentally ill or criminal so she has no reason or excuse to pad her credentials. At least that's the way I see it.

I realize that the overwhelming number of folks who bothered to reply to the <lotsa> posts don't share my opinion. Fair enough, they're entitled to their opinion and entitled to let me and everyone else know about it.

Finally, I shouldn't have started this go-round using a sock account- that was cowardly and hypocritical on my part, especially given what I posted in the <cheater of the month> thread.

And with respect to just barging into your forum with a sock, I apologize for doing that. That was both rude and unfair to you.

At any rate, for the second time in two years, I've said what I wanted to say, and I've nothing further of relevance to add.

Two years ago, there was a tad more favorable reaction to my posts, but yesterday you can see that I was tarred, feathered, and run out of town.

I think there was a bit more support for my charges last go-round because half of the website was already furious at <WGM Pogonina> and her husband.

With respect to the topic in your forum, I did find out something about "Player pages" and which famous masters have or don't have admin privileges. I didn't know this at the time, but this topic doesn't apply in the case of <WGM Pogonina>. So I shouldn't have just lumped her in on a discussion about masters who may be censoring their own player pages, without knowing what I was talking about first.

That was another reason it was clumsy, and premature, for me to add my "lotsa" post in your forum.

Ok that's it for me on this topic. Maybe I'll revisit it in another two years.

I agree with you. I thought you were working yourself up into being sued so I didn't wish to fan the flames any more, and say I agreed. Then I made a transparent(but honest) effort to compliment the other party for not overreacting, hoping to plant that seed of "Yeah, I'm laughing it off".

As for overreacting, I found amusing in a painful way the calls for you to never edit. It was quite the lesson in tribalism.

<the calls for you to never edit>

Ironically, I actually have three separate accounts with cg.com editing privileges.

When I first applied, Daniel un<accountably> gave both JFQ and Mrs. Alkhine editing privileges.

This later prompted me to report myself for accidentally "voting twice" on a games collection promotion.

Daniel's reply was stern, but fair, saying only "stop doing that."

Recently, he gave the <WCC Editing Project> editing privileges, possibly because the account has the word "Editing" in it.

His ways remain mysterious to me.
