  WCC Editing Project: LOL!

Not bad <tbone> thanks for asking, and you?

The monkeys are screeching mainly. They were all taught the same response to

"How are you?"

They are all taught in elementary school to say

"I'm fine thanks, and you?"

So when they say it I repeat

"I'm fine thanks, and you?"

Then they will say it again. I will say it again.

They will repeat it four times or more before laughing, because they are taught so strongly to "respect teacher" that they are never quite sure when it's safe to assume the teacher is kidding them.

I remember myself in Middle School and I can tell you Canadian hybrids are rotten little scoundrels compared to Korean kids. We used to smoke in the washroom and try to steal exams from the teachers. The boys would beat hell out of each other on a daily basis. It was like living in a zoo. I hated Middle School.

Abortion it is, and it can bugger off indeed.

  jessicafischerqueen: <perfidious>

Did they actually end up building it? How close is it to ground zero? I stopped reading about it a long time ago because it was turning my stomach. Didn't they keep changing the name- "victory mosque" to "freedom mosque" or "tolerance mosque" or something? I should have thought they'd eventually get to "obviously a bad idea mosque."

I wonder what American public opinion might have been if Japan asked to build a Shinto Temple on top of Pearl Harbor a year after World War II ended.

I just watched a very moving documentary about the folks involved in rebuilding the world trade center: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3159478...

perfidious: <jess>: It is still in the planning stages, what with all the controversy.

Don't know exactly how far from ground zero 51 Park Place is, but it is too close for the taste of many.

My stepsons are Muslim, and this is a subject I never broach, though they are in no way fundamentalist in belief.

Sep-12-13  Alien Math: Micro botch appears

Microsoft Pulls KB2817630 Patch from Windows Update Servers icrosoft has confirmed in a post on the TechNet blogs that the KB2817630 update released on Patch Tuesday is indeed causing problems to a number of users due to what seems to be a compatibility issue with Outlook 2013. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Micr...

How to fix affected installations:
If you have Automatic Updates enabled, visit the Add Remove Programs feature of your Windows Installation, and uninstall KB2817630. Close Outlook and restart.

If you have installed the August Cumulative update (which you must do manually), removing KB2817347 will correct the issue. From the Add Remove Programs feature, select KB2817347 from the list and select “Uninstall.” Close Outlook and restart.

If you have BOTH Updates installed, the problem is not evident. The issue only manifests when one of the updates has been installed. If you have updated to the September Public Update and you want to roll forward, install the August Cumulative update, KB2817347. http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_s...

Well met.

Jinx! I was listening to various versions of <Strawberry Fields> last night and I was thinking exactly the same thing. As we discussed before, it virtually invents "Prog Rock."

This is the video I like best on it- is it meant to be the original Beatles video? As you know the Beatles were also ahead of their time in releasing what we now call "music videos."

Back then people would probably have called them something different.

"Michelle"- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_Ho...

That is written and sung by Paul right?

Beautiful song that's for sure. I taught it to my students last year to introduce them to "French."

Sep-15-13  Travis Bickle: Jess I was trying to find the original video's I saw of Penny Lane & Stawberry Fields in 1967 on a television show called Hollywood Palace. The acter/host that week was Vance Johnson. It's very frustrating trying to find anything these days on youtube!

Penny Lane appears normal to what I seen on that program, but the many videos on youtube I've seen of Strawberry Fields is fu@%#& up with ARTISTE'S experimenting with it and ruining the video. I don't recall seeing heads stretched or bodies elongated, and the cartoonish colors inserted in certain parts, that's modern psychedelic imagery not usually done in the 60's television shows.

I do remember in the original I saw on TV and in the past on youtube when Ringo walks past the piano toward the beginning of the video you see Paul drumming like on the back of the piano. When The Beatles paint the piano the video goes negative (black & white) & in the middle section of the song you can see an obscure soldier in between the strings behind the piano. At the end you can clearly see paul McCartney high on some substance kicking at his sheep dog martha twice & nearly falling over. The viedo now seems to go dark which wasn't the case before. I located a video that I'm sure was the original but when I clicked on it Apple Corps deleted it.

I did find the show they were on using google.
