<POOSOO> Good heavens. I can only guess that <BOMBA, JUNGLE BOY> didn't reply to your guess because you actually won the contest? I think your guess was correct and then <BOOMERANG> bought you a premium membership as your prize.

You can pick a good ABBATOIR from the cg.com list here: Avatar Area

Or you can email our webmaster <DANIEL BOONE> with an avatar photo of your own choosing and he will add it to the list.

Send your ABBATOIR photo to chess@chessgames.com and say

<DANYUL please add this ABBATOIR to he list brah.>

<POOSOO> Well cg.com is good that way. They have all manner of contests and such with cool prizes.

I congratulate you on winning <BOOMBASTIC BUSHKIN'S> Bheehtoven contest.

<BOMBA> has also won many limerick, pun and haiku contests himself. Often the prize is a bun which is mailed to your home address.

<BOOMIES> real name is <Teem>. He's an excellent chess player who hails from Spanish Harlem in New York City. He hustles chess all day long in the parks, and also tutors underprivileged children in 19th century Swedish theology.

keypusher: < Boomie: <OhioChessFan: Hmmmmmm. Purcell and Bach.> Warmer.

Funny that Ludwig Van would rate the High Baroque above his contemporaries. When Mozart wrote a fugue, he said it was the hardest thing he ever did and it still wasn't very good. Perhaps the degree of difficulty factors in.

Both Mozart and Haydn encouraged Beethoven and helped his career. Haydn was one of the nicest men in the history of music, in my opinion.>

I thought Beethoven recognized only Handel as a genius.

I don't know a lot about music, but my understanding was that J.S. Bach (as opposed to his kids) was pretty much forgotten until Mendelssohn brought him back to prominence in 1829 with a staging of the St. Matthew Passion. Beethoven was dead by then.

Yes I think <POOSOO> might be one of those culture savants. If I'm not mistaken, <Boomie> will shortly declare him the WIENER.

Aug-30-16  Boomie: keypusher: <I thought Beethoven recognized only Handel as a genius.

Bach was less known to Haydn and Mozart, but not forgotten. Bach's children created the Classical movement. Mozart called CPE Bach "the Father of us all." Curiosity drove them to look at some of the elder Bach's work and I'm sure they were as charmed by it as we are today.

You guys are getting very close to the complete answer.

Aug-30-16  Boomie: <posoo>

As much as I would love to present you with a baker's dozen, you have made an incorrect assumption about Ludwig Van's opinion of Bach.

<tbonesteaks> Brilliant! <Teem> will be thrilled to see these home movies of his first career, before he became a beloved neighborhood chess guru in Spanish Harlem.

This article may answer some questions about JS Bach's influence on Beethoven and Mozart.

Yet more proof that "Boomie" is in fact a denizen of the outdoor chess tables in Spanish Harlem.
