<Teem> Brilliant condensed Twilight, with a young Telly. I did see that episode and it's one of the most scary. I'm wondering if Roald Dahl wrote that screenplay?

Sep-03-16  Boomie: <Jesh-Yi-Ka: I'm wondering if Roald Dahl wrote that screenplay?>

All dolls are creepy. The real question is "Are dolls creepier than clowns?"

"Talky Tina, a doll that does everything, a lifelike creation of plastic and springs and painted smile. To Erich Streator, she is the most unwelcome addition to his household—but without her, he'd never enter the Twilight Zone."

There seems to be some controversy about the author.

"Written by Jerry Sohl (Credited to Charles Beaumont)"

As you know, Charles Beaumont was The Beaver's Dad. Apparently he graduated to hijacking scripts.

Jerry Sohl/Roald Dahl...Coinkidink? I don't think so.

<Teem> I'm (mis)-remembering more details now- Dahl wrote a short story about a father dueling with a malevolent baby, not a doll. There's a very similar scene in which the baby murders the mother, I believe, by deliberately leaving a toy on the steps. The story ends with the man whipping out a scalpel. I think he's a doctor.

What about the even more infamous <Jerry Tohl>, who specialized in ripping off old people's scripts?

<Teem> I'm pretty excited this morning brah- it's 3:00 AM and I'm getting up because today Hiking Club is doing the "Nutsack Temple" trail.

We'll arrive at Nutsack Temple (I'm not sure how to spell the Korean words in English) at sunrise- 6:00 AM.

Then, we climb up the infamous "1000 stone steps" of Nutsack.

Next, we'll gain access to the Nutsack-Mount Dung Dong Sa ridge trail. This involves a wee bit of rock climbing, but you don't need special gear. They have fixed ropes and a metal guard rail protecting most of the exposed faces. They are still pretty exciting though.

Finally, after traversing the 7 kilometer ridge, we'll hike up Dung Dong Sa mountain to complete the trip. This will take around 8 hours all told.

I'm afraid to ask how we'll get back- I'm hoping a helicopter will take us home. They can't mean we take another 8 hours to go back on the trail?

Maybe this is why we are leaving so early.

hmm looks like I better pack some extra socks and cans of squid.

I take copious amounts of bitamin M. I forget the rest of them, so I'm OK.

I responded to your response to my responsibly written emu. RSVP. LSMFT.

Even if you did, you would probably go with Nutsach anyhoo.

<I'm afraid to ask how we'll get back> You don't. Once you've had Ding Dung, you can't go back.

Anyways, that sounds exciting (I'm SO jealous) and I'll wear my hiking boots today as a sympathy gesture.

Thanks <Teem>. I've prepared for this trek by watching a series of mountaineering disaster videos on youtube.

Right now I'm preparing a special water proof wrapping for my cell phone in case I need to call in a rescue team.

Luckily the entire country is wired for internet. You could be on the moon, and if it's directly over Korea you could still get a cell phone signal.

  saffuna: Who films mountaineering disasters?

I do know of one, John All after falling deep into a crevasse in the Himalayas while alone, and most likely about to die.

Sep-03-16  User not found: I just watched that video Jim and it's like a nightmare, I didn't know you watched snuff, lol. Did he actually die down there? If so that can't have been an easy death, crazy people these 21 century adventurists hoverboarding off the edge of building's and stuff, these people aren't sane to start with.

saffuna: No, he didn't die. I saw him yesterday. He heads up the American Climber Science Program which is working down here at the moment.

He got out and managed to crawl to is tent, 100 yards or so. Then lay down, too exhausted to get in his sleeping bag. He had some sort of gadget to call for help, so a helicopter came in a couple of hours.

He was doing research, by the way, not trying to climb a mountain.

<Jim> Impressive, but still doesn't match <Joe Simpson> eh?

saffuna: Ah "Touching the Void." That was in 1985, in a place I've gone many times. But he didn't film it, the bum!

He and his friend were definitely trying to climb something new and hard, move up in the of British climbing.

The book was great, but I don't want to see the movie. I was hired provisionally by the Peruvian producer, gave her all the logistical information about getting to the site, then dumped unceremoniously.

Doh! Mistakes corrected

<UHF Channel> Well met brah.

I've almost caught up through EPL Week 3 and I've seen almost every match in full so far.

This <Kante> for Chelsea looks more than a little useful- he was particularly impressive in the game vs Burnley.

On other new Blues, I really like this new striker <BatSchidt Crazy>- he looks like a live one to me. I like his haircut too. Nice to see an EPL player without the standard metrosexual haircut. Combined with the inevitable tattoo sleeve, it makes grown men look like little boys being pimped out.

I'm not sure why the new manager can't make room to start <Fabergas>- he pretty much single handedly saved Chelsea in the Week 2 match. Hmm must be in pretty good shape if <Fabergas> is only a substitute on your squad eh?

I have the Belgium World Cup qualifier cued up on an HD file and I can't wait to see <De Bruyne> and <Hazzard> together again.

I'm still finding it hard to believe that <Portugal> won Euro 2016.

saffuna: <jfq> Nope. But what was worse was I was supposed to guide the overflight for the film, which would have been extremely valuable to me, getting aerial photos. They just decided to do something else, and thanks a lot.

Beautiful area, by the way.

<UHF Football Channel>

I'm just downloading the England qualifier now, but I was thinking-

I feel like emailing <Allardyce> to suggest giving Hull City's <Curtis Davies> a shot. In last week's game vs. ManU he was surely the man of the match. A heartbreaking conclusion to his heroic defence, but I can't say I was sorry to see <Rashford's> thrilling last minute goal. Very nice assist from <The Skipper> as well, still useful on that star studded squad.

I can't second guess a manager as great as <Jose Feliciano>, but I'd consider starting <Rashford> over <Martial> next week. Might light a fire under <Martial's> ass.

No doubt that <Feliciano> is a perfect fit for ManU though, as you were mentioning a few weeks back.

He wrote: <Oh, I don't reckon anyone looks in here much nowadays. Yesterday's backwater, innit? Yo, readers! Feel free to prove me wrong by shouting, jumping about, usw.>

So I tried to start a parade to Frogspawn to let him know how much he means to us. Domdaniel chessforum (kibitz #23919)

Sep-07-16  Dear Mr. Owen: Hello Jessica! You have some excellent links in your profile -- I wanted to thank you for compiling so cool like that for all us fellow Fischer fans.

I've used this site before, but I only recently registered when I came across some of the incomprehensible comments made by chrisowen, which intrigued me, to put it mildly. When I googled him I found an old post you made on here about him and I was wondering if you'd mind my asking you a few questions about him? Thanks!
