Hello all,
I joined CG as an administrator, editor & front-end developer. I will start helping CG with administrative/editor tasks such as making sure tournaments and their bio's are complete and up-to-date, reading forums to help list and prioritize tasks at hand.

<*****************>
<*<*<<Bugs:>>*>*>

1. Has the problem with the duplicates caused by the Nbd2 bug been rectified?
petemcd85 chessforum (kibitz #367)

2. Find Deletions script
(seems to be a bug thats not adding all deletions are added to deletion page)

3. Empty Vote on Collections
stevemcd87 chessforum

4. Random game feature sometimes comes up with a non-existing game.
* Find out which game feature he's talking about. GTM?
chessgames.com chessforum

5. Plaintext passwords - Update the way CG stores user's passwords, perhaps add a Forgot Password link.

6. Missing "notable games" and "notable tournaments" from player - <Jess> stevemcd87 chessforum We are setting up the old servers to use as a testing platform. It will help to debug this issue.

7. Opening Explorer keeps reverting to white pieces when analyzing black pieces

8. I found a problem with the search function.
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #40034)

9. filter to show classical games only on players page.

<*<*<<Enhancements:>>*>*>

1. arrange kibitzer cafe per year

2. Games that are not uploaded due to 'games being to short' should be added.

3. Automate Olga Viewer to PGN4WEB for 'null move games', 960 games(done)
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #39652)

4. Can a button be added to the Olga toolbar to get a link to a position in the game, etc.
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #39870)

5. From the Database Statistics page, this is a bit ugly:Years covered: 0 to 2023 (2024 years)
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #39938)

6. Could <CG> please add a <Source Icon> to games in its gamelist?
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #39871)

7. Apply "Jump to page #" in the players individual libraries.
chessgames.com chessforum

8. To see puns that Chessgames.com has used in the past, see our Game of the Day Archive. The link just takes you to the homepage, which only goes back a year. It'd be really nice to have a link to <Phony Benoni's> Game Collection on a couple prominent spots, including the homepage and the pun submission page.
chessgames.com chessforum

9. the GOD collection has not been updated since September 12th. Again, why can't this be put on auto-pilot?
chessgames.com chessforum

12. adding a position evaluation bar along the side of the chess bar. Example of evaluation bar.

chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #40218)

14. When viewing one's <Profile> for follow-up posts <CG> uses a star to mark threads where someone has posted after your last post, no matter who.
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #40266)

15. stone free or die: Can we please at least add the FIDE card for new players from the get-go - if available of course:
https://www.chessgames.com/perl/kil...

16. stone free or die: The entire submission process should be revamped, and I think made more transparent to review.
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #40277)

17. stone free or die: So, while I accept not being able to vote on a collection - I can't even see what collection was nominated, nor what the vote count is.
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #40291)

18. I want to create links, probably housed in my profile, but regardless. I want to create a link to a specific move in the Opening Explorer. I want to be able to attach a name of my choosing to said link.
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #40330)

Laszlo Ondok has been updated to L Ondok

Nov-03-22  stone free or die: How did Alekhine vs M Krauz, 1916 go from 1915 to 1916(*)?

And what happened to all the previous kibitzing?

And I see <Missy> left a very brief note about changing the Event tag

Editor Notes

but I believe quite a bit of other biographical data for the game was also changed.

(*) Was the BCM source tag there before, or did <Missy> just add it?

* * * * *

Is there anyway to see the history of edits to a particular game?

It's kind of a pain to go through 4000+ pages of Notes to see who did what when to a game.

.

MissScarlett: A correction slip - from whom, I can't recall - pointed out that the Alekhine game was misattributed, and pointed to its inclusion in <Skinner & Verhoeven> as a blindfold simul game. I added a couple of details from that volume.

Previous recovery jobs have preserved the kibitzing, but <petemcd> must answer to this, if not, for this.

Why haven't they worked? I've merged duplicates with success, keeping the comments from both games that was merged

<fredthebear: This week I'm called a meth head>

The comment was also deleted

Nov-05-22  stone free or die: PS - the only essential and valid argument against my multiple accounts is for those who truly want to put me on their ignore-list.

I fully endorse this concern.

Ironically, those most vociferous and vicious in complaining never put me on ignore.

Still, there is a solution - and one that would be more general than a policy designed to basically single out an individual user.

Allow aliases to be registered, and allow users to select whether an ignore is for an individual account, or for the entirety of the constellation.

This would seem to be a better solution, particularly given the history of how we got here, and how to fairly resolve this issue (whether real or not).

Can you locate all 2016 games with the event tag <52. Miedzynarodowy Festiwal Szachowy im. A> or <52. Miedzynarodowy Festiwal Szachowy im. Akiby Rubinsteina -> or <52. Miedzynarodowy Festiwal Szachowy im. Akiby Rubinsteina - OPEN A (od 1800)>.

I think I've uploaded 224 games but every game has gotten it's own tid.

I need all games under one tid, if you can do that.

fredthebear: Enough with painting me out to be the bad guy.

perfidious is obsessed with me. He made 7 posts about me yesterday. I'm one of his top targets, of which he has many. How many of those 7 posts were nice? He deliberately miscasts me in his invention of the day, and I will respond. That man is full of hate, he spews it in my direction, I will respond.

What's more, his plethora of chess posts are rather lazy and effortless. If he'd put as much effort into informing the readers as he does finding big words, we might learn something. It's not uncommon to find errors in his chess posts, so he gets narcissistic on us, telling us how great he is and how feeble we are. When pigs fly!

Don't post insults and errors, and there's much less response.
