Hello all,
I joined CG as an administrator, editor & front-end developer. I will start helping CG with administrative/editor tasks such as making sure tournaments and their bio's are complete and up-to-date, reading forums to help list and prioritize tasks at hand.

<*<*<<Bugs:>>*>*>

1. Has the problem with the duplicates caused by the Nbd2 bug been rectified?
petemcd85 chessforum (kibitz #367)

2. Find Deletions script

5. Plaintext passwords - Update the way CG stores user's passwords, perhaps add a Forgot Password link.

6. Missing "notable games" and "notable tournaments" from player - <Jess> stevemcd87 chessforum We are setting up the old servers to use as a testing platform. It will help to debug this issue.

4. Can a button be added to the Olga toolbar to get a link to a position in the game, etc.
chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #39870)

8. To see puns that Chessgames.com has used in the past, see our Game of the Day Archive. The link just takes you to the homepage, which only goes back a year. It'd be really nice to have a link to <Phony Benoni's> Game Collection on a couple prominent spots, including the homepage and the pun submission page.

That would suggest to me this page is an appropriate substitute to blowing the whistle. Would I be correct in thinking that?

He was pointing something out to me. If someone is violating the guidelines in a post, then please just blow the whistle. If there's an issue you like to discuss, depending on what it is, we can discuss it here or email us if you want to keep it private.

Moreover, that poster is currently banned and doesn't enjoy any rights on <CG>.

<OCF> seems to disapprove of the ban and pretends to file complaint in polite fashion. Don't fall for the facade, here's how he really feels:

Dec-18-22  stone free or die: BTW- funny that, in a question about over on the <Bistro> about <CG>'s toxic atmosphere driving contributors away, one particular user answered in the affirmative.

This same user posted this message in one of their widely off-topic game collection:

<Phuckoff Z pee and cry!>

Game Collection: Ross For Boss" - We Should Have Listened

An ironically toxic contribution from one who daily complains about toxicity on <CG>.

And, preempting <OCF>'s objections, there is no <blow the whistle> feature for game collections.

Should <CG> implement one?

Maybe for this one user's game collections.

fredthebear: Sock puppet trolling was the problem in the first place. Imposter Z sock puppets didn't know what the hell a Rossolimo Sicilian was!! The troller is complaining but should have played through the games collection to learn what 3.Bb5 is. The troller doesn't play chess but feels entitled to tell everyone what they can and cannot do on this chess website. Troll doesn't even know the RULES of chess. Troll doesn't have a clue about building an opening repertoire. Troll gonna tell me what to do, or tell Pete. Troll gonna tell me what to do, or tell Pete! Troll gonna tell ME what to do, or tell PETE!! z is a crybaby's crybaby but z don't mind because that's all the sad attention z can garner.

Stop playing nurse maid and allowing the z troll to troll members in this forum.

jnpope: Someone has been pooping in the tournament index (see events 7, 30, 32 and 50 for example).

Tournament Index

If we are going to start adding Simuls and Blindfold Simuls into the tournament index can we at least require the events to have better names?

For example, event 50 could/should be renamed from Blindfold simul, 6b (1867) to "Steinitz Blindfold simul, 6b Dundee (1867)"; or something similar, just so it shows up in the index as a distinct and informative name?

I just don’t think his super sensitive, effeminate feelings bubble should cancel free speech on cg, and he shouldn’t be deleting homo alerts just because he doesn’t want to tolerate my point of view. He shouldn’t be so freaking arrogant as to try to impose his woke millennial values on a group of members who have happily been bashing one another for over a decade.

And it’s just ridiculous for a youngster millennial like Steve to try to regular the conversations of a group of guys much older than him. We were arguing politics and being toxic full grown men with families since he was eating animal crackers in his underwear watching cartoons after school.>

Would posting on someone's forum constitute aiming at them?

OhioChessFan: I do appreciate your difficult position, <pete>, although much of it is self inflicted. Grampa always told me if you run with the billygoats long enough, you begin to smell like them. Maybe inviting individual complaints into your forum wasn't such a good idea-as I did warn you-despite it being well intentioned.

Regardless, I'd encourage you not to be browbeaten into revealing personal information your interrogators aren't entitled to.
