Jul-15-18  thegoodanarchist: Congratulations to the Frenchies!

A bit of bad luck for Croatia - obviously the hand ball in the box was accidental. It bounced off the French guy first, I think, and no way the defender could avoid having it hit his arm.

However, it must be called a penalty, otherwise we would have neverending handballs in the box where the defenders claim "accident".

The bad luck didn't reverse a fair result. France were the best team in the tournament and likely would have won without the penalty.

Griezmann is a poor sport, too. He made the "Loser" symbol with his hand when he danced in the face of the Croatian supporters after the penalty. Shame on him.

Jul-15-18  thegoodanarchist: <WannaBe: 4-2, pull the goalie again...>

Yes, pull the goalie. Just don't pull my finger! :)

Thanks to <WannaBe> for hosting this fun and entertaining contest. Next time I will employ <Penguincw>'s bizarre strategy in <lostemperor>'s prediction contest, and turn my picks upside down. Then I should have good chances of winning :)

See you in 4 years!

Jul-18-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: Yes, thank you wannabe for opening your forum for the WC wagers. Congratulations to Nako, he certainly knows his stuff. Morf I'm writing out my World Cup review - should be fun - and I'll come and post it in your forum when I've done, mate. Very proud of England.

Btw wannabe.. Google just got a 4 billion dollar fine for this..

<Google has been fined a record €4.34bn ($5bn; £3.9bn) over Android.

The European Commission said the firm had used the mobile operating system to illegally "cement its dominant position" in search.

The firm's parent Alphabet has been given 90 days to change its business practices or face further penalties of up to 5% of its average global daily turnover.

It has said it plans to appeal.

However, it could easily afford the fine if required - its cash reserves totalled nearly $103bn at the end of March.>

They have such a monopoly over basically everything we use online. I don't mind working for them though :)
