Game 20 / 2341 Goldsmith, Murray - Keeney, Palmer Gunkel C87 Goldsmith - Kunkel Cincinnati, OH USA (5), 06.1910

ACB states this was the fifth game of the match. According to a list of games from the match, (ACB November 1910, p. 268). the fifth game was a Four Knight won by Keeney in 57 moves. This game matches game 8 in the list, except that Goldsmith was Black in the even-numbered games. Also, Keeney did not play the Ruy Lopez with White in any other game from the match. Hence, I am assuming this is game 5 and the earlier list was in error. 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 Nf6 5.0-0 Be7 6.Re1 d6 7.d4 Bd7 8.Bxc6 Bxc6 9.Nc3 exd4 10.Nxd4 Qd7 11.Nxc6 bxc6 12.Qd3 0-0 13.Bg5 Nh5 14.Bxe7 Qxe7 15.Qc4 Qd7 16.Rad1 g6 17.Ne2 Rfe8 18.Qd3 Qg4 19.f3 Qg5 20.Qd2 Qb5 21.b3 Ng7 22.c4 Qb6+ 23.Kh1 Re7 24.Nc3 Qc5 25.Na4 Qh5 26.Qf2 Ne6 27.Nc3 Qg5 28.g3 Qf6 29.Qe3 Ree8 30.f4 Ng7 31.Qf3 Rab8 32.Re3 Re6 33.Ne2 Rbe8 34.g4 Qe7 35.Ng3 h6 36.Rde1 Qf6 37.Kg2 Qb2+ 38.R1e2 Qd4 39.Rd3 Qc5 40.h3 f5 41.exf5 gxf5 42.Rdd2 Re3 43.Qf2 fxg4 44.hxg4 h5 45.Rxe3 Rxe3 46.gxh5 a5 47.Re2 Re6 48.Qf3 Qd4 49.Rxe6 Nxe6 50.Qg4+ Kf7 51.Qg6+ Ke7 52.Nf5+ Kf8 53.Qxe6 Source: American Chess Bulletin, March 1912, p. 62. 1-0
