Mar-03-07  hitman84: Here they go..
Mar-03-07  hitman84: <TheBB>Its the Topalov Leko game.
Mar-03-07  TheBB: <hitman84> Doesn't mean it's not also the Carlsen-Aronian game.
Mar-03-07  Eyal: <jhoro: <TheBB> this looks like Topalov Leko from Mexico> Yes, with Carlsen deviating on move 27(!) with 27.Bf1 instead of a4. The a pawn doesn't need immediate protection - 27...Bxa2?? 28.Nb5.
Mar-03-07  hitman84: <TheBB>Maybe they played the same line.
Mar-03-07  hitman84: We go back in time!

Domdaniel: Is this where we get a message from chessgames.com, saying that moves will be drip-fed until we catch up or fall asleep?

chessgames.com: We're fixing a mistake -- we'll be caught up in just a minute. Thank you for your patience.
Mar-03-07  botvinnik64: No live feed from Linares either?
Mar-03-07  popski: Bah, another boring draw?! :/
Mar-03-07  Jack Kerouac: This would be like playing H.G Wells....
Mar-03-07  NakoSonorense: Looks like a draw to me...
Mar-03-07  jhoro: <Eyal>, at the time I thought that <27.Bf1 Bxa2?? 28.Nb5.> is a nice little trick worth trying on Leko though much like Aronian he wouldn't have fallen for it.

chessgames.com: We apologize for that non-live "broadcast" but we'll be switching over to Svidler-Anand in just a minute.
Mar-03-07  marco antonio: aronia has a little adv with a pawn
Mar-03-07  grolich: Well, you can't explain the kid (even one as exceptionally talented as Carlsen) to win every (or even most...) games against these opponents.

The way he's playing in this tournament so far is remarkable enough, and not boring at all.

Mar-03-07  jhoro: that was a hard day - repeating 26 moves from a previous game and getting out in less than an hour. instead of playing chess they should give them 10 puzzles each and let the solve them for time. there is no point repeating 26 moves.
Mar-03-07  NakoSonorense: And a draw it is. Exciting game, Lev. and Mag.!
Mar-03-07  grolich: Woopsy, in my last post "explain" = "expect".
Mar-03-07  lucifershammer: They agreed a draw ... but they're playing again?
Mar-03-07  boz: With some luck Svidler-Anand will be an equally quick draw. Then we can move on to the only game with promise.
Mar-03-07  herby rawley: unless pre-arranged a draw is as difficult to play as a win and to me as interesting to watch...try to draw against one of these guys...the hardest and best game i ever played was a draw against sammy reshevsky at the ramaz school in nyc..... one of 33 games in a simul...
Mar-05-07  crwynn: I think games like this are interesting, like "Pierre Menard, author of the Quixote": the game is the same as Topa-Leko (for all intents and purposes) but perhaps the deep inner meaning of the moves is entirely different.
Mar-05-07  Trinculo: CRWynn: LOL!
