 | | FSR: Danger, Will-Robinson! |
Apr-22-16 | | sofouuk: whatever black was smoking before the game, i want some |
Apr-22-16 | | Delboy: Not sure why this mismatch was made game of the day. Black should have resigned about 20 moves earlier |
Apr-22-16 | | newzild: A 2000-elo player beats up an 1800-elo player with straightforward moves. Why is this GOTD? |
Apr-22-16 | | WickedPawn: Hey CG, What the heck is going on today for god's sake. |
Apr-22-16 | | ndg2: I think it was all about the - predictable - pun. |
Apr-22-16 | | Doniez: Thank you CG for showing as GOTD one of my typical game (as black, of course). Appreciated! |

 | | offramp: It's a pretty good game; and I liked the pun because I am a big fan of Lost In Space. My favourite character was definitely Judy Robinson, played by the taciturn Marta Kristen, whose rĂ´le was seemingly to say as little as possible, an ethos which could very successfully be examined and followed by many voluble kibitzers at this very site. |
Apr-22-16 | | morfishine: A search for 'Will' reveals no game(s) in the <CG> database, well thats merciful! |
Apr-22-16 | | TheTamale: Conor McGregor would wipe up the floor with these ham & eggers. Scotland hastened to apply the "no true Scotsman" label to both these players. |
Apr-22-16 | | thegoodanarchist: Black loses a piece in the opening because he doesn't know theory. Sorry, <offramp>, I must disagree. Not a good game. |
Apr-22-16 | | cunctatorg: Well, the true merit of this game was the opportunity ... to remember "Lost in Space" (a "sci-fi" serial from the fifties?!?) and our childhood; we were once children and completely newbies (or even totally ignorant) regarding the "Royal Game" ... and Physics too!! Well, "Lost in Space" was perhaps the place of our first meeting with the term "Laser" and the concept of A.I. A few years later many of us would answer negatively regarding the possibility of the A.I. to beat the World Champion during the 20th century and we'd put a question regarding the possibility of A.I. to beat the World Champion even some day!... Nowadays, at the age of the Rise of the Chess-machines I keep wondering if some day the A.I. will be able to solve some of the millennium mathematical problems before some mathematician... Not bad... |

 | | perfidious: <cunctatorg: Well, the true merit of this game was the opportunity ... to remember "Lost in Space" (a "sci-fi" serial from the fifties?!?) and our childhood....> It actually ran from 1965 to 1968. |

 | | playground player: That robot from <Lost in Space>--I'd like to know how many science fiction movies and TV shows it appeared in. |
Apr-22-16 | | kevin86: Black had no move, than allow himself to be mated. |
Apr-22-16 | | waustad: The only time I remember anybody playing a BDG line against me was playing in the bar (like most of my chess). After more than a few tipples I had no intent to step into a prepared variation and found another line. I showed my opponent various BDG lines a few weeks later and he didn't know any of them. |
Apr-22-16
 | | profK: The Robot and Dr Z Smith actually played chess in at least one episode of L.I.S. |
Apr-22-16 | | RandomVisitor: The robot should begin waving his arms and shouting Danger! Danger! after 6...Qxd4, because 6...Nxc3 or 6...Nd6 are likely better. |
Apr-22-16 | | Mendrys: It was <FSR>! He did it! I'm not usually one to complain about the quality of games but this is just a beat down. Though the depth of my humility knows no bound and I am frequently astonished at how humble I can be, I daresay that I have a few games of my own that I should submit for GOTD consideration if this is considered worthy. |

Apr-24-16
 | | offramp: I think the GoTD should be chosen from a huge pool. Grandmaster games right down to stupid bullet games. We should all have a chance. |
Jun-01-16 | | Twocolors: Still waiting for "Does not compute..." |
