Championships

Oladapo Adu scored 8/9 to win the 2015 Zone 4.4 championship - ahead of Kigigha Bomo - held in Lome in Togo for the right to compete in the World Cup (2015). (1) There he lost his first round match to Veselin Topalov to bow out of the event. He again scored 8/9 at Zonal 4.4 championship in Ghana to dominate his title defence at the end of March(4) 2016.

Team events

Adu represented Nigeria at the Olympiads of 1994, 1996, 2006, 2008 and 2012. He also represented Nigeria at the all-Africa Games in 2003 and 2007.

Tournaments

Adu has coached ( 1) and frequently played on the US Open circuit. He won the standard, rapid and blitz portions of the Maryland tournament held during the Labor Day weekend in 2001. (3) He also won the 15th Annual Northern Virginia Open 2010 and was =2nd behind Robert M Perez at the 39th Annual World Open - U2400 Section.
