GrahamClayton: Kalnins competed in several Latvian championship tournaments in the 1930's before emigrating to the United Staes, where he resided in Kalamazoo, MI until his death.

He finished 2nd in the 1955 Michigan State championship, and won the 1956 Kalamazoo City championship.

mifralu: << jessicafischerqueen> <chesshistoryinterest> Sadly, we seem only to have a player account for <Arvids Kalnins>, but as you can see <mifralu> has also been working on this difficult disambiguation as well.>

To help clarify the confusion of the three Kalnins (Arvids, Arnolds, Indrikis):

This is the player account of < Indriķis Heinrihs Kalniņš. >

I have copied the post below from the < ARVIDS KALNINS > page to here.

Arvids Kalnins (kibitz #1)

Only missing player account of the Kalnins now is <Arnolds Kalniņš>
