Grandmaster Boris Kreiman was born in Moscow, Russian SSR, USSR on June 7, 1976. He received his first chess training from the Russian School of Chess in Moscow at the age of 5. After moving to the United States at the age of 14, he settled on Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, New York, where he studied with GM Gata Kamsky. Later, he also trained with GM Alex Yermolinsky.
