  Jonathan Sarfati: Dr Guđmundur Pálmason (1928–2004) was one of Iceland's top geologists and a pioneer in his country's geothermal research as well, as one of their best chessplayers after Fridrik Olafsson He once visited my chess club as the guest of his former Olympiad team mate Arinbjorn Gudmundsson who has lived in Brisbane for many years.
