I like this quote.

Oct-06-07  whiteshark: I found the following corr game on the UltraCorr2006 database, but I doubt that black is Robert James Fischer :

Doubts:

- 1984 was not an 'active' year of Bobby

-Corr chess and simultan ?? <EventType "simul"/Round 3>

- There are 3 further corr games in the a.m. db, played by Robert J Fischer between 1983 and 1988, but he was an East German player.

I think this should be clarified beforehand, maybe by white:

http://www.correspondencechess.com was founded and is Owned/Managed by <John C. Knudsen.>

Oct-06-07  pawnofdoom: There are plenty of Robert Fischers over the world, and any of them could have played that correspondence game. I just searched the USCF database, and there are 7, 4 of them called Robert J. Fischer. The strongest of the 7 plays correspondence chess and has a rating slightly over 2000. But he's been active lately and probably didn't play back in 1984. But maybe one of the other ones did

In correspondence chess you can smoke during the game.

Oct-06-07  whiteshark: <pawnofdoom> Thanks, so your findings will add the pressure on the doubts. :)
Aug-22-10  whiteshark: "You'll know there is a problem with computers and correspondence chess when everyone is rated 2450"

He's got a point there.
