Nov-28-09  jerseybob: I remember Horowitz publishing a Bill Ruth win in his N.Y. Times column around 1964, a game that Ruth had recently played though he was well in his 70s. But if the dates given are correct, Ruth was only 10 years old when he drew Napier?

This may be the only (online) version of this game - I could not find it in http://fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html. Ruth was reigning champion of New Jersey State by February 1937, and a match was set up (despite protests from the South Jersey Association) against the challenger Clinton Parmelee, who had then just won the North Jersey Chess Association tournament. This game may be from that match, or perhaps just a game from the Newark city championship. By May 1942 Parmelee was champion of NJ.
