Having just seen his opponent play 29.B(d5)xf7, Gawehns chose to resign. Little did he know that he could have won by means of 29...Qb1+ 30.Kg2 Qh1+ with mate to follow.

  Phony Benoni: And if White declines the queen with 31.Kh3? I see no useful checks for Black, and White does have a mate threat of his own starting with 32.Rh8+.
