Oct-28-12 | | tolengoy: Hear ye all. Lest I be mistaken, let me make myself clear. My lamentations are not meant to troll or provide self amusement..nor are they meant to stir the calm waters and create a tsunami. Rather, they are part and parcel of an honest crusade for justice and truth. I do not speak for Wesley. He can speak his own mind. I only articulate in defense to what I believe is just and true- to which the elo system is not. It gives a result greatly dependent on volume of activity - for a couple players of equal strength, the one with more tournaments logged in with turn in the higher numbers. That's why Carlsen is on top...he gets countless tokens to play the video game, when all is counted and done, he will surely top Wesley who is given only one. I have nothing against Magnus...the system is to blame. Fortunately for him, he and his fellow goldfish stand as the beneficiary...Sadly for Wes, he and his fellow barracudas and the rest of the sardines and planktons stand as the casualty. Is it that hard to see? Probably not...the problem is maybe you folks are not able to see more deeply. You are all in a hypnotic state. Snap out of it. It's a mirage your seeing. Time to break the projector which is flashing a wrong image in the video screen. Is it Magnus? No it is Wesley. |

Oct-28-12 | | joachimvhw: No, you are, in fact, a troll. You ignore explanations and corrections, you ignore statistics, you cherry-pick, you are often times openly lying, ... You have compared yourself and Wesley So to Jesus, Galileo, etc... You wallow in an insane persecution complex. You talk about 'defending truth, justice, ...' like only truly egomaniacal people can, meanwhile mistaking your appeals to emotion for answers to our posts. <I only articulate in defense to what I believe is just and true- to which the elo system is not. It gives a result greatly dependent on volume of activity - for a couple players of equal strength, the one with more tournaments logged in with turn in the higher numbers. > Prove it.
You continue to lie about this.
You have been corrected on this core issue numerous times, but still post it, all the while becoming more grotesque in your replies and bloated egotism. This is the definition of trolling (or, if you're genuinely not trying to troll, of particular personality disorders). |

Oct-28-12 | | tolengoy: <He does NOT NEED you. His performance will SPEAK FOR ITSELF.> Did I say otherwise. Maybe its time for me to end my agony. Forgive me Wesley...http://youtu.be/hcO4MMzdYE8 |

 | | alexmagnus: < It gives a result greatly dependent on volume of activity - for a couple players of equal strength, the one with more tournaments logged in with turn in the higher numbers> Only:
a)if both (starting with the same rating) perform higher than expected by this very same rating. If both perform at par with the rating, it doesn't change at all, and if both perform lower, the more active player comes out worse. b)for one rating period. In the second rating period the first player may actually - if maintaining the same level of activity - come out with a smaller rating. Because he has a higher starting rating. |

Oct-29-12 | | drik: <tolengoy: <Your ignorance of Tennis is no less complete than your ignorance of Chess or you ignorance of Cosmology> Why didn't you mention golf? and billards?> Because I only have to prove you a liar once - as I did by pointing out the ATP policy of INVITING the top 104 out 128 competitors. I don't have to try to prove you a fool - anyone who refers to the great Bjorn Borg as Bjorg, needs no help in that regard. Confuse him with Bjork did you? |
|
Oct-29-12 | | drik: <tolengoy: It's still a very good performance if you compare with with Magnus finishing <dead last>.> His first & only poor performance. He finished SECOND in his next event, Linares if I remember right. So by his SECOND elite tournament, the 16 year old Carlsen was already better than Wesley So is ever likely to be. Hurts does it? <...Wesley finishing in the middle of the pack...invited he is not.> Wesley has never finsihed middle of the pack - he has NEVER qualified for an elite event in his life. Because he finished 4th, 4th & 4th in all 3 B events. Carlsen in contrast tied for first at the B event at his VERY FIRST ATTEMPT. |
|
Oct-29-12 | | drik: <tolengoy: He has Arianne- his losing antidote:> So having a girlfriend is the antidote to ratings inequity? Makes me wonder whether your ignorance of chess, tennis and cosmology is matched by your ignorance of women! |

LOL!> fairly hefty you say? I say fairy tale....> ...knowing so little, it is not surprising you cannot distinguish between 'fairly hefty' and 'hefty fairy'. Perhaps it reflects on your social circles. |

On the first, you're right of course, but 'moar' is actually fairly commonly seen on the Internet. |

Nov-16-12 | | brankat: <Troller> Thanks! Yes, his resurrection has been fully expected. SO, then, the show must go on :-) |

Nov-16-12 | | liwanag: <He is alive and well under User: liwanag> I went over the history of this page. I say the protagonist <tolengoy> makes a lot of sense...agreeing with him is one thing...branding me as his copycat is a serious allegation and must be based on empirical evidence than mere baseless insinuation. |
