Jun-19-14 | | nok: He may have other preferences. |
Jun-19-14 | | Everett: <bugabay: <Carlsen with all the ladies around him after the win :) i think tonight will be a ladies night!>
Wishful thinking, he is past 21 and no girlfriend....he need a coach and teach him well how to talk to ladies. Any volunteers?> Certainly nobody who posts here consistently. |

Jun-19-14 | | Sokrates: <Everett: ... Certainly nobody who posts here consistently.> LOL. You're right about that. Magazine New in Chess takes great effort in showing pics of beautiful young women, either chess-players or women hired for glamourising a tournament (as seen in the report on the Gashimov venue). I guess they want to show some counter-weight to the very heterogenic array of chess-masters. I don't know anything about Carlsen's sex preferences, but I reckon it would be hard for him at this stage of his life to reserve time enough for a regular relationship. Travelling a lot, staying at hotels with Peter Heine around (competition?), and concentration on chess. But IMO he needs to do something about it. He shouldn't neglect such an important side of his life - after all youth can't be repeated later! :-) |

Jun-19-14 | | Chessinfinite: <The picture posted by Appaz in the first place, it's nothing less than beautiful art!> Yes, it is good art !
<<I think Anand would have the all time rapid rating easily imo.> < What's an "all time rating"? > It should have been all time 'high' rating of course ! My bad. <Wishful thinking, he is past 21 and no girlfriend....he need a coach and teach him well how to talk to ladies. > Yes, Carlsen needs to get in touch with some ladies, soon and preferable before his Nov match :) |

Jun-19-14 | | waustad: As often happens, there were some problems with the site the first day that were ironed out fairly quickly. Over all I think they've done an excellent job, particularly considering how difficult it is dealing with rapids and blitz. |
Jun-19-14 | | vkk: Carlsen looks like a caveman and has one of the worst personalities ever Not sure why you people think it's strange he doesn't have a girlfriend Hell even nakamuras cocky ass managed to get a lady even though she lives in another country |
Jun-19-14 | | Absentee: <vkk: Carlsen looks like a caveman and has one of the worst personalities ever> You got to know him personally? |
Jun-19-14
 | | perfidious: <Absentee> Some of us are luckier than others, though it is difficult to imagine any top player letting <vkk> near them for very long--too much ignorance. |
Jun-19-14 | | vkk: My best friend went to school with carlsen for 8 years and carlsen used to get picked in a lot thanks to his massive ego because he was good at chess and not so much anything else I also met vishy anand on a flight to Mumbai.
He was taking economy class like everyone else and was the most modest person I've ever met Do take your ignorance comment and shove it back up your ass |
Jun-19-14
 | | perfidious: <vkk> Sure, long as you press your face nice and close for the blowback to follow--biggest thrill you will have had in many a moon. |
Jun-19-14 | | Jason Frost: <Chessinfinite> Don't think anyone doubts Anand was an amazing quick player, but Kasparov was still better, though the gap was obviously closer than in classical. |
Jun-19-14 | | Petrosianic: <He was taking economy class like everyone else and was the most modest person I've ever met> If EVERYONE took economy, there wouldn't be any other class. He may be a great guy, and from all accounts I've heard, he is, but I don't give him any credit for the plane tickets he chooses to buy. That's entirely his own business, and I'd think no less of him if he flew First Class. |

Jun-19-14 | | frandie: <the top players in rapid are as follows: > volume of activity is factored in...Wesley's lack of participation in tourneys such as this one is the reason why he's not among the top...the rating does not correctly reflect his skill...but the dearth of opportunities. |
Jun-19-14 | | Absentee: <vkk: My best friend went to school with carlsen for 8 years and carlsen used to get picked in a lot thanks to his massive ego because he was good at chess and not so much anything else> Most people are bad at chess AND everything else, so that's something. |
Jun-19-14 | | vkk: Nobody is jealous that someone is good at pushing wood at that age. He was probably an introvert and never really talked to anyone and therefore became an easy target. |
Jun-19-14 | | Petrosianic: <Nobody is jealous that someone is good at pushing wood at that age.> They might be if he got a lot of attention and/or praise for doing it. Everyone is jealous of attention. |
Jun-19-14 | | john barleycorn: <Petrosianic: <Nobody is jealous that someone is good at pushing wood at that age.> They might be if he got a lot of attention and/or praise for doing it. Everyone is jealous of attention.> Wasn't he freed from regular school visits when his talent became obvious? |
Jun-19-14 | | Rolfo: vkk, post a picture of your wife so we can see what Carlsen and Nakamura have to reach for |
Jun-19-14
 | | perfidious: <Rolfo> He needs time to hire someone, who will have to be well paid to get anywhere near the stench. |
Jun-19-14 | | Rolfo: Lol perfidious, but I won't interfere to close on him or his family. He was quite unpleasant on both Carlsen and Nakamura and deserved a wake up call. Anyway I hope he himself has a pleasant girlfriend / wife if we get a picture or not |
Jun-19-14 | | CountryGirl: Sorry if someone has already answered this, but why does Carlsen win? From the Chessgames table above, Anand could catch him with 2 more wins, or Moro could catch him with 3 wins...(?)
Why don't they get to play 15 games, too? |

The top players were given headstart out of the pack. In a 100m dash race, top players had an easy start at half way mark. |

Jun-19-14 | | bugabay: < vkk: My best friend went to school with carlsen for 8 years and carlsen used to get picked in a lot thanks to his massive ego because he was good at chess and not so much anything else> Nothing but chess? He's gotta be good at something else, like crocheting, sewing, beading and so forth? Vkk, make yourself clear, did he or did he not have at least one girlfriend in school. Tell the truth and nothing but the truth so help you and protect you from the hands of the fanboiz..... |

Jun-19-14 | | bugabay: how about flower arrangement? Vkk? |
