Oct-09-07  borkoto: Roiz is still hangin in there - amazing staff
Oct-09-07  Mameluk: Radjabov´s KID seems impregnable.
Oct-09-07  Mameluk: Ivanchuk sacrificed a piece and meanwhile Moro completely messed his position and should be happy for a draw.
Oct-09-07  vlado23: <Mameluk> isn't Moro about to win?
Oct-09-07  Mameluk: The problem is Roiz must win against Cheparinov to make it 3-3. So he will probably lose.
Oct-09-07  borkoto: The best game so far in the tournament...Cheparinov vs Roiz - good attacking play - no draw rule
Oct-09-07  SickedChess: Moro is trying hard to win this
Oct-09-07  Mameluk: Now Van Wely erred with 36...Bf5 instead of simple Qxf7 and does not have many pawns right now. We´ll see if Moro can win this, he was completely winning before however.
Oct-09-07  borkoto: Cheparinov has taken bigger scalps than \Roiz's - but Roiz is no lesser player -gootta give it to him
Oct-09-07  borkoto: sadly Roiz is coming to a bitter end 0 - so much for his effort
Oct-09-07  Mameluk: Chucky overpressed. It is not over yet, but quite bad.
Oct-09-07  VishyFan: <chessmoron: Unbelievable, Xu Yuhua drew against the unstoppable Koneru Humpy which she is nearly 100 points below the Indian's ELO.> It was a GM draw....., Humpy's team has already won the championship and Humpy has won the individual Top board prize and she might have wanted to close this successful tournament safely...

Humpy is gaining 10 ELO from this tournament.....

Oct-09-07  Mameluk: Ivanchuk lost for a team, because they were losing. So No. 1 not yet, especially when Anand seems winning. Moro seems definitely like a draw.
Oct-09-07  slomarko: what the hell has Ivanchuk done? what was that Ne5?????
Oct-09-07  chessmoron: Anand is 2800 flat after a 1 pt lost.

Ivanchuk will lose 3.2 ELO points. 2784

Oct-09-07  edwitten: the only explanation is that ivanchuk had to force matters for team reasons, because his play was pretty absurd.
Oct-09-07  slomarko: indeed his play sucked
Oct-09-07  notyetagm: <edwitten: the only explanation is that ivanchuk had to force matters for team reasons, because his play was pretty absurd.>

Yes, I didn't understand that knight sacrifice by Radjabov. It didn't quite look sound but like you said maybe his team needed the win.

Oct-09-07  vlado23: the final position in Rublevsky vs. Tiviakov today is almost identical to Anand vs Grischuk, 2007 from Mexico
Oct-10-07  CHESSMANIAC05: please stop hating on ivanchuk. nobody wins every game ya know.
Oct-10-07  King mega: The former world champion petrosyan? and Szabo who lived in the early 20th century?!
Oct-10-07  VishyFan: <chessmoron: Anand is 2800 flat after a 1 pt lost.> Anand is set to lose 2 ELO, so he is 2799 effectively....., I don't know if he is playing anywhere before Corus 2008...... I guess he will be stuck at 2799 for the Jan 2008 List....
Oct-10-07  Aspirador: Did anybody check Ivanchuk-Radja. Must be an incorrect score. 38.Nxe5?? dxe5?? (Bxe5!) is certainly false.
Oct-10-07  Aspirador: It was probably 38.Nxc5 dxc5. Makes more sense.
Oct-15-07  notyetagm: <VishyFan: <chessmoron: Anand is 2800 flat after a 1 pt lost.> Anand is set to lose 2 ELO, so he is 2799 effectively....., I don't know if he is playing anywhere before Corus 2008...... I guess he will be stuck at 2799 for the Jan 2008 List....>

<VishyFan> Any idea what Mamedyarov's effective rating is right now after this ECC performance and his 2/2 start at Essent?

Thanks
