Somebody can look this up? I am almost sure Kaspy got 11.> My conclusion from Kasparov's CG records is that his score in 1980 was 10.5. Therefore, in answer to your enquiry, this is what I think: Kasparov 1980 10.5 points Mamedyarov 2003 10 points Mamedyarov 2005 10.5 points I do not know whether Yu Yangyi's score of 11 points in 2013 constitutes a record or not. Sep-26-13    Maatalkko: William James Lombardy won the 1957 World Junior Championship with a perfect 11/11. Of course, the competition was not as difficult back then, but he also defeated Spassky in junior competition and qualified for an Interzonal (which he didn't play), so Lombardy was definitely a very strong junior for his time. Sep-26-13    Strongest Force: When Kaspy won i remember with my own eyes seeing that he had 11 and Short had 9.5. I got into online fight with GM L'Ami over wether Shark would have had his run-away-score if Nak had not missed his flight and played against Shark. You guys need to cite where your info comes from. (NB On that basis, I conclude that Short got 9 points in 1980, not 9.5.) Sep-26-13    FISCHERboy: Dominant performance from Yu. If Wei Yi continues to play in more (and stronger) tournaments, he will definitely become a World Junior champion, say two to three years. Daniil Dubov and Illya Nyzhnyk stand in his way. The two stronger juniors, Wesley So and Anish Giri, let their chances slip away, so this should not be difficult for Wei, Dubov and Nyzhnyk to share dominance for three years or so. Ray Robson can try and spoil the party next year, though. Both players were 23 that year, so not exactly juniors. Believe there were pundits who regarded Lombardy as a greater talent than Fischer-after the former won the Junior at Toronto, and before the latter won the US Closed event. It appears that Mamedyarov got 10 points when he won the first time (in 2003) & 10.5 points when he won the second time (in 2005). He did not get 12 points on either occasion. Dolmatov won with 10.5 in 1978; so did Curt Hansen in 1984. Shirov and Ilya Gurevich both scored 10.5 at Santiago 1990, and so did Świercz and Hovhannisyan at Chennai 2011. Galkin and Sadvakasov also scored 10.5 in 1999 and 1998 respectively. 11/13 might be a first; hard to check, since complete crosstables are hard to find... Oct-03-13    alpha64: Mamedyarov got 11/13 in 2003 World Junior Championship and 10.5/13 in 2005. He did not participate in 2004 championship. I got this info from 365chess.com. Kaspy scored 10.5/13 and Nigel Short was second with 9 points in Dortmund World Junior Championship. Oct-07-13    wych: Mamedyarov got 10/13 in 2003, not 11/13. If you take another look at 365Chess.com, you will see that 2 of his games from that event, (one win & one loss), are listed twice.
