World Junior Championship (2018)

The 57th World Junior Championship was an 11-round Swiss held in the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Gebze, Kocaeli Province, Turkey from 5-15 September 2018 (with a double round on 7 September). Rest day: 9 September. Time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. No draw offers were allowed until move 30. First prize: 3,000 Euros. Tournament director: Ozgur Solakoglu. Chief arbiter: Fahri Karabay.

The winner was GM Parham Maghsoodloo with 9.5/11. The 2nd and 3rd placed players were Puranik and Lobanov.
