Oct-23-06  schnarre: LOVE IT!!!
Feb-25-07  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Very logical finish.
Apr-08-08  Sem: 19. Bg4 is very unpleasant for Black.

tpstar: White to Play and Win after 20 ... Nd8.

One drawback of 10 ... Bd6 versus 10 ... Bb6 is how White may continue 11. Bf4 trading off Bishops, then pound against the IQP in the endgame.

Nice finishing touch.

May-24-21  Messiah: Severely undercommented game.

al wazir: Was there ever a more useless piece than black's ♖ on e5?
May-25-21  Messiah: Thank you for picking this game!

OhioChessFan: Nice, logical finish. A shame that "Zhenevsky" isn't a little closer to "General", but it's okay.
May-25-21  Brenin: White's strategy is model of how to exploit weaknesses in Black's central pawn structure.

perfidious: One might say that Black's play in this early example of this Tarrasch IQP line was a model of acquiescence.
May-25-21  AlicesKnight: The perception that the Black R is "trapped" in the middle of the board is worthy of note - how far back did the 'General' see it?
May-25-21  Ironmanth: Clever finish! Thanks, chessgames.

WannaBe: Must be a Very Model of a Modern General, because he can tell a Rook from a Knight. 😁😜
May-25-21  Cheapo by the Dozen: Wikipedia suggest that he actually was some kind of military leader, but perhaps irregularly so. Certainly no particular rank is cited.
May-25-21  thegoodanarchist: Good pun today.
May-25-21  Andresiano: Better esa 30 Rxf8 (+) AND then move 31 a5

How so? On 30. Rxf8+ Kxf8 31. a5 Rf5 32. a6 Rf7 33. Bb7 Re7 34. a7 Re8 etc., White only wins a piece, versus actually queening in the game line.
