Here is a less known problem. In 1956 it took a computer in Moscow 12 minutes to solve. White pawns on c7,d6,e7,f6,g7
White king on e4
Black king on e6.
White to move.
( It is a mate in 3 with 2 underpromotions.)
Have fun. |
|
Jan-21-12 | | Akavall: <NakoSonorense> That collection has only under-promotions to knights. However, your posted opened my eyes to the power of cg.com game collections, an I came across this: Game Collection: Underpromotions and I found the answer to the question I was seeking. Under-promotion to Bishop:
D Tomic vs F Winzbeck, 1993
Under-promotion to RookL
Sajtar vs Benko, 1954
Thank you <NakoSonorense> and <sneaky>! |

Jan-21-12 | | Akavall: <SwitchingQuylthulg> Nice article. Thanks. I find the logic of under-promotion really neat. |

 | | HeMateMe: Did the Bud Lime Lite the other nite. A very safe 4.2 alchohol, really just a strong soft drink. |

 | | perfidious: <HMM> Bud Lite with a taste of lime? That sounds nasty, and I'm no beer drinker. |
|
Jul-15-12 | | JoergWalter: I'm a beer drinker, a german beer drinker. And this is not personal <HeMateMe>. (In fact, I'm rather concerned about your lifestyle) How do you make sure it was Bud Lime Lite?
Wait for the autopsy. |

 | | HeMateMe: ok, its not real beer. But, sometimes you just want a little tasty something, and not get drunk. |

Jul-31-12 | | PinnedPiece: I have searched this forum from beginning to end, all 199 pages, and cannot find the one thing that is appropriate for this page reaching the 200th post. Guess what that would be... You work hard, play hard, write hard, search hard, work up a sweat in the heat, work up a thirst, and then its ______ ____. Any guesses?
An old American commercial for the high life.
When I was young (30+ yrs ago!!!), some drank Olympia "Its the waters", some drank Coors "Pure as Rocky Mountain Spring waters" some drank Old Milwalkee, some drank Pabst Blue Ribbon, some drank Schlitz, some drank Hamm's "From the land of sky blue waters" (THUMP dum dum dum THUMP dum dum dum) and some--like me--drank the champaign of bottled beers. (All that was before any of us visited England, Germany, Austria, or Belgium!) Nevertheless, I think its now Miller Time! = |
