IM Lawrence Day registered a perfect 5/5 to top IM Jevgenyij Boguszlavszkij (visiting from Hungary) and the rest of the 16 player field Nov. 13 at the Bayview Games Club in Toronto to win the 2004 Canadian Senior Championship. He won the Ottawa RA club championships between 1966-8. Mar-14-09  Ed Trice: Fischer told me he would not deal with Ed Labate.

I told Labate this.

This infuriated Labate. Everything else of his on that site is a reaction against him knowing that his idol absolutely despises him.

  chancho: As Lt. Colombo would say: Lt. Columbo: Um, yeah, I'm sorry. I was, uh, I was just thinking about something. ... When I'm alone, I don't know, I... I get confused.

If Fischer did not want to deal with Labate, why this e-mail?

<From: GothicChessInfo@aol.com>

<To: labatechess@sbcglobal.net>

<Sent: Monday, September 03, 2007 11:38 AM>

<Subject: Book is coming along fine>

<Hi Ed,>

<I banged out 40 pages of the book this week. At this rate, if all goes well, it will start printing at the end of October.>

<I have a deal for you. 500 copies of the book for $1500 + the signed Fischer book, plus, I give you a 3 week head start on all other distributors.>

<Deal?>

<Let me know.>

<--Ed>

Mar-15-09  PhilFeeley: I don't know whether anyone else has looked at this, but it is interesting:

http://veryrarebooks.blogspot.com/2...

My question: If Fischer wrote the book, why is it "very rare"?

Mar-15-09  Jim Bartle: Among other things, I'm repeatedly amazed how in the e-mails that "GothicChessInfo" and others just have no idea how long it takes to turn a manuscript (even a completed, error-free one) into a published book.

The idea that "banging out 40 pages" in September means "starting printing at the end of October" sounds laughable. Then again, we've already heard how many typos there are in the book.

Mar-15-09  AnalyzeThis: <Ed Trice: Fischer told me he would not deal with Ed Labate. >

Just curious. Is there a single living person on this planet, besides yourself, that is willing to say that you even met Bobby Fischer?

Mar-15-09  ughaibu: RookFile: Try posting on Trice's forum, I think he has you on ignore.
Mar-15-09  Ed Trice: I recently emailed Dr. Frank Brady, who mentioned that Riverbeast is a "young, scruffy-looking man, possibly from New England." Dr. Brady is well aware that I never contacted him regarding what Riverbeast said previously. Dr. Brady now beleives someone claiming to be me contacted him about the book. That person is very highly probably Riverbeast himself, since he asked Dr. Brady, privately, about the book. Dr. Brady made no "announcement at the club" as Riverbeast would have you believe.

Anyone who emails me, I will forward Dr. Brady's replies. You can then ask him yourself.

Mar-15-09  Jim Bartle: I'm sorry, Mr. Trice, but that's a non-denial denial. Are you saying the e-mail chancho posted here is a fake?

  chancho: chanco, just like <hackmate> would write it...
Mar-15-09  Ed Trice: Jim, clearly you are aware of what a spoofed email is? And a PA court already overturned the Alabama court ruling, citing numerous legal circumventions and reprimanding the parties involved. Alabama is so backwards as a legal entity, they have no computerized system, and they failed to act in time to respond to the overruling motion. Watch what happens next, as forgery claims are filed and Labate will have to answer who really signed the document in Philadlelphia while I was out of the country.
Mar-15-09  Jim Bartle: Mr. Trice: Another non-denial denial. Did you send the e-mail chancho posted above, Subject line "Book is coming along fine"? Or is it a forgery?

I would also like to point out that your previous post clearly violated guideline #1, "no profane language." The guideline does not limit itself to English.

Mar-15-09  Jim Bartle: OK, fair enough. At least for the moment.

I'll take the "come ----" as a one-time slip.

Mar-15-09  ughaibu: Chancho: You're a premmy, can you do a check and see if there is anyone else who misspells your name like that?

  chancho: <ughaibu> Some people have misspelled my name like that. In the search kibitz feature, about a page and half of discussion regarding the fake book it's been mostly <hackmate>, and once by <PinnedPiece> and now <Trice>.
Mar-15-09  ughaibu: Okay, thanks. Interesting that PinnedPiece also did it.
Mar-15-09  Jim Bartle: I find the chanco/chancho error verrrrry interesting.

  IMlday: I seemed to recall some criticism of Alabama's courts so googled <Alabama governor rail-roaded kangaroo> and got over 3000 hits!
Mar-15-09  Jim Bartle: Yes, it's true, the Democratic ex-governor got railroaded and badly, but it was in a Federal court (via the US Attorney), not the Alabama courts.

There is great suspicion that Bush political advisor Karl Rove was behind the whole thing, for which he is now under subpoena to testify under oath before a congressional committee. Rove has attempted to sort of deny his involvement, but has carefully avoid saying outright he had nothing to do with it.

Mar-15-09  JonDSouzaEva: There's only one Ed Trice, and dozens and dozens of his aliases!

My favorite Ed Trice alias was John Cartaphilus. Not content with being #1 in the rating list of Gothic Chess players, Trice invented a character called John Cartaphilus and became #2 as well! Of course Trice (as GothicInventor) always saw off the young pretender in the games that he manufactured between them.

John Cartaphilus started off talking just like Trice: http://tinyurl.com/58zx32
(he is MorphyFischer in this thread that he started back in 2005).

Cartaphilus later mutated into a foul mouthed oaf who often picked fights with everyone (including Trice):
http://z13.invisionfree.com/Gothic_...

Alas, in early 2008 John Cartaphilus had outlived his usefulness and Trice killed him off in a tragic automobile accident: http://z13.invisionfree.com/Gothic_...

Mar-15-09  rookhouse: <Ed Trice: Fischer told me he would not deal with Ed Labate.

I told Labate this.

This infuriated Labate. Everything else of his on that site is a reaction against him knowing that his idol absolutely despises him.>

Yeah, because Trice's word means "so much". He has no credibility and has been caught in lie after lie.

Shall we review a small portion of his track history?

-- He lied about raising 14 million dollars for a Fischer Gothic Chess Match.

-- He claimed to write the world champion checkers program, but shows no proof of this.

-- He claimed that Donald Trump wanted to buy the patent for "Gothic Chess" from him, but he wouldn't sell (although he's declared bankruptcy), even when being offered a 7 figure sum. Yeah, I'm sure that happened.

-- He tried to scam the entire chess world and completely disrespected Bobby Fischer with his fake "My 61 Memorable Games" hoax.

-- After getting caught red-handed (the evidence is overwhelming) with his "My 61 Memorable Games" hoax, he tries to blame it on someone else.

-- He created several aliases (Scarlet Rose, Victor Rose, Hackmate, etc.), posted lies to chess newsgroups with them, and even after he was busted, continues to lie and deny that they were him.

-- Claims he was never married to cover some other lie that he told, but then turned around on another site and is quoted as saying "I was there with my wife Ellie" when referring to a trip to Paris.

-- He claims to be a 2200 rated player, but facts show that he's a mid-1300 player. He lies about that until he can't lie any more, THEN claims that the "Ed Trice" on USCF's rating site is not even really him, it's his cousin, yet has a link to the rating site on his own Wiki page that clearly shows that he's lying. He's too stupid to even be a good liar.

-- Makes trip to Iceland with Frank Camaratta, but never meets Fischer. Supposedly goes to Iceland again by himself (with no witnesses) and magically meets Fischer with nobody around to verify this. Very convenient.

-- He claims one day to be a British citizen, but then the very next day (when it's convenient for his argument) hides behind the fact that he's a U.S. citizen and has rights. Talk about lying so much that YOU don't even know what the truth is anymore.

-- Shows up at the World Open with a t-shirt that basically advertises that he perpetrated the "My 61 Memorable Games" hoax, arrogantly has someone take a picture of him (not a very flattering one by the way), and doesn't even play a single game of chess in the tournament. It's also funny how he has now taken that picture down off of his site. Moron finally figured out that it incriminates him in the book hoax.

-- After repeatedly denying that the USCF profile with a 1400 rating was him, turns around and says that it is really him, but now claims that he purposely "tanks" his rating to make money at the World Open (which is sleazy to begin with), but doesn't even play in the tournament.

-- Won't dare answer to the fact that Dr. Frank Brady admitted that Trice approached him about helping to promote "My 61 Memorable Games" before it was ever in the public eye.

Why would anyone EVER believe anything that comes out of his mouth?!?

Mar-15-09  Jim Bartle: I don't see Mr. Day as "aligned" with anybody. He's given his opinion concerning the book and its contents (which I don't really agree with), nothing more.

  James Demery: I must find someone objective to look into this.
Mar-15-09  sharro: <Ed Trice: And a PA court already overturned the Alabama court ruling, citing numerous legal circumventions and reprimanding the parties involved. >

Now this is getting interesting. Which court? Did you post the court papers online yet?

Mar-15-09  rookhouse: <Ed Trice: Jim, clearly you are aware of what a spoofed email is?>

Typical Trice. Anytime an argument doesn't go his way or black and white proof is put right in his face, he cries "forgery" or "foul".

What a completely sickening individual.

I'm sure that he will also assault "New In Chess" or Gudmundur Thorarinsson himself when it's pointed out that Thorarinsson is quoted in the 2008 Fischer memorial edition of "New In Chess" as saying "though Ed Trice came to Iceland to discuss a gothic chess match, Fischer NEVER met him".
