Nava (nee Shterenberg) Starr was awarded her women's IM title in 1978. She qualified for the Canadian team shortly after moving with her current husband to Canada in October of 1975, later qualifying for another dozen Women's Olympiads (1976-84, 1988, 1992-6, 2002-6), mainly as first board. The team won first place in the B group in 1976 and played again for Canada in the Tromso Olympiad (Women) (2014) (score: +2-3=1) at the reserve board. Some later major team events in which Starr participated include Turin Olympiad (Women) (2006) , Calvia Olympiad (Women) (2004) and Bled Olympiad (Women) (2002) - accumulating 73 wins, 32 losses, and 42 draws throughout her Olympiad representation. Starr represented Canada at the Women's World Championship 2001 (finished 0-2 versus Corina-Isabela Peptan in the first round), at the Women's Interzonal (1978, 1982, 1985, 1990, 1993) and became Canadian Women's Champion eight times (1978, 1981, 1984, 1986, 1989, 1991, 1995, 2001).
