 | | Penguincw: <Bookie>, I don't wanna cry "wolf" or something, but http://2700chess.com/live states that Hou Yifan has white <again> for R5, after the Rest Day. But then sites like http://en.chessbase.com/post/women-... state that Hou Yifan has black after the Rest Day. I would think the first source is right, because otherwise Muzychuk would have a Rest Day before all 5 of her white games, and that's not fair. Just thought I'd bring it to your attention.
---
BTW, I found another source: http://www.fide.com/component/conte.... < The colours will be reversed after game four (the player getting the white colour in game one plays game five with the black pieces). > |

I checked the regulations & sure enough they reverse colors in Round 5. I will refund the couple of bets that were made so far & relist the game with the proper color assignment. <REGULATIONS FOR THE WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH (FWWCM) 20153.4 Drawing of colors
3.4.1 The draw for colors will be conducted during the opening ceremony. The colors shall be reversed after game 4. (The player getting the white color in game 1 shall play game 5 with the black color).> |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: My apologies to the person or persons who had put bets(2) on the Round 5 Muzychuk - Hou game. Your bet has been refunded. The correct listing should be Hou - Muzychuk for Round 5(They reverse colors in Round 5). I will relist the game with each contestant having the proper colors. |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: There is a discrepancy in the Aeroflot Moiseenko - Wen Yang game. Several sites show the game as a draw but Chess-Results.com reports it as being won by Moiseenko which I believe is correct. This game affects a Daily Double so I want to be sure about the result. Give me a little time to sort this out. Thanks for your patience. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Moiseenko was the winner in that game. Inarkiev(Black) & Moiseenko(White) were winners in their games. So Black-White will pay off on the other Daily Double. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: GM's Boris Gelfand & Evgeniy Najer Have tied for first place in the Aeroflot Open both with 6.5/9pts.. I am awaiting word to see who has won the tiebreak so we can pay off the 'Pick the Winner' bet for the Aeroflot Open. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: I have heard that Najer has won Aeroflot but I can not confirm it yet. The only source I have is a tweet & I don't put much stock in tweets. <chess24.com @chess24com 1h1 hour agoFinal results of the 2016 Aeroflot Open: 3. Bartel, 2. Gelfand, 1. Najer https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-t... … #c24live> I will wait for something a little more reliable before I pay off the Aeroflot winner bet. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: Chess-Results gives Najer as the winner on TB2; they usually get things like that right, and their standings are identical with what chess24 gives. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Annie K.: The confusing thing is the Twitter photo - it looks like they are standing on a podium, in which case the winner should be the one in the middle, but that's Gelfand... can anybody figure out the trophies? :s |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Ok I see the list you are looking at(TB2) <Switch> at Chess-Results & it has Najer 1, Gelfand 2 & Bartel 3. Good enough! So GM Najer is the winner of Aeroflot & his ticket will pay off. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: I saw that photo <Annie K.> & it is confusing. Is anything in chess ever easy? I think Najer's trophy is a hair bigger. ;) |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Annie K.: Well, I wouldn't rely greatly on Chess-Results when it comes to tiebreaks - their setup simply *has to* show a "first" and "second" place, but there's no guarantee these were updated by the actually applied tiebreaks. As I recall, they showed a winner for Hastings, where they actually ended up with shared first place. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Supposedly they had a playoff according to the Regulations: <Determination of the winner:
1.If two players tie for the first place, then two blitz games with the same control as
in the tournament will be played to determine the winner. If the outcome is still undecided,
then a sudden-death game with a time control of 5 min. vs 4 min. will be played. 2.If more than two players tie for the first place, then the first two are determined as follows: Buchholz score
number of wins
result of personal encounter
Whereupon an additional match is played between the first two players, as per paragraph 1.> I saw no carrying these playoff blitz games if there were any. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Annie K.: Yep, I saw that pdf too, that's exactly why I'm not trusting Chess-Results; they seem to have no record of the blitz games either. Maybe it would be better to wait with the payoff until there's an actual official announcement. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: I'll wait 2 more hours to see what shows up & then make an 'executive decision'. I do believe Najer won though. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: I think you're looking at the tie-break regulations for the Aeroflot blitz tournament, not the main tournament. According to http://www.acfed.ru/upload/Aeroflot..., these are the tie-break criteria for the main Aeroflot Open: <Tiebreak systems:
For tournament A and B:
1. The number of games played with Black pieces. Byes and forfeited games will be considered as games played
with White.
2. The average of the opponents ratings minus the highest and the lowest rating. For Tournament C:
1. The Buchholz score>
Which matches what Chess-Results has; so no need for blitz games between Najer and Gelfand. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Annie K.: <Switch> oh - yeah, that would certainly go a long way toward explaining the <with the same control as in the tournament> part! ;s <1.If two players tie for the first place, then two blitz games <with the same control as in the tournament> will be played to determine the winner.> |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Ok that makes more sense. If there were some blitz games I think somebody here would have heard about it. I am going with Najer as the winner. Every list I have seen This Week in Chess, Chess 24, Chess-Results all have Najer on top followed by Gelfand. Therefore all those who had the Najer ticket will get paid. http://theweekinchess.com/chessnews... |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: I was definitely looking at the blitz format earlier <Switch>. We don't want that. So they just went on a specific tie-break system. Thanks for posting it. Bets have been paid off. |
|
Mar-09-16
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Since we had no games going for tomorrow 3/10/16 I did find a nice game from the Reykjavik Open to list. If your like me you need something to bet on. Round 4 Shabalov - Cheparinov place your bets! |
