<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

For the second straight round, we had a challenge to <chessmoron> and his scoring methods. Again, he just used the patened <chessmoron> staredown to persuade <juan31> not to pursue the matter. Sometimes it's good to be seven and a half feet tall.

We had some shakeups in the scoring. <amw> still holds the lead in 3 Rankers, but <Robin01> surged to the lead in Bonus Ranker. <Penguincw> moved into a tie for the lead in 2 Rankers, and <GE> is in a tie for the lead in 1. It's been a fairly low scoring affair, so there's not much separation in the scores.

Will someone be daring/stupid enough to challenge <chessmoron> for a third straight round? Will <amw> make another run? Can someone take charge with one big round? Will Kyrie Irving be a late entrant to our contest? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pertinent questions. 5 rounds to go.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

The pressure on <chessmoron> is building. Trying to keep all the contestants in line while trying to apply the contest's bizarre scoring rules has left him unsure whether we just finished Round 4 or 5. To cover his bases, he listed the results as Round 4 and the summary as Round 5.

As for the contest, <amw> is leading 3 Rankers. <offramp> pulled off what had to be a first this many rounds into a contest, in going from last to first in a Ranker. <Penguincw> is tied for the lead in 2 Rankers, and <GE> is tied for the lead in #1 Ranker. It's been a fairly low scoring event, and the bellwether Moves+Bonus Ranker is extremely close as a result. Only 16 points separate first and last place.

The contestants need some time to regroup, so tomorrow will be an off day. Whether everyone will be able to handle this torrid schedule by the time Sinquefield gets here is a mystery so far. Only 4 rounds to go in our exciting contest.

Jul-29-17  WinKing: I have sent out quite a few flyers <OCF> for Sinquefield. I have also left them in most of the major forums. There should be a good turnout for the prediction contests.
